It doesn’t mean it isn’t scripted. The longer they make the “hunts” the more money they make on the videos. There are plenty of instances where they don’t use bows and their speech gives away the script.

They find a set seed and re run the same seed multiple times until a good run is found. The hunters probably win many times before a good extremely entertaining run is produced so in a sense they are kinda fake. But at the end of the day they are pretty fun to watch so idrc.

@@fgddf9464 He said that he practiced crafting it while jumping off a platform, which is why he placed a crafting table, but then he didn't have time to click that one because they hit him a second too early, and then he was just lucky there was another one. He said it wasn't an accident that there was one slot free in his hotbar and that the wood was where it was, he practiced that exact scenario many times, it just happened differently than he intended. I think it's plausible, he had plenty of time to register the other crafting table and get ready for it, with his skill level. Then again, the situation is just too perfect to be real, huh

In 10:00 , I know what really happened. In Sapnap Live, Sapnap was reacting to manhunt 2 hunters, Sapnap said their relationship in that point of time was like joking, or trolling each other. So it means it isn't fake at all, it's George's fault.

@TrollBTD They definitely aren't all fake, especially the first couple of manhunts, just watch the unedited version of the manhunts and see for yourself. Dream has said that they do a lot of them off camera and if he dies early he just doesn't upload it to KZbin. In the first manhunt with George he said George killed him so many times he rage quit and left. He only picks the runs that are good enough to make a video.

He did admit in one or two videos he only uploads the interesting videos. He mentioned one video where the hunters managed to surround him in a snow biome and pummel him to death with their fists. He also mentioned how every ravine he falls into has a tree. That's because those are the only videos where he fell into a ravine and won. He also mentioned another time that they spawned in a village at the start, and the hunters got iron right away and killed him at spawn. He also admitted that the videos he uploads are heavily editted. In that one video where one of the hunters uses an exploit to find diamond, Dream admitted that that was the fourth or fifth time he did that. He actually put the sound file from the first time they did that trick, instead of his actual reaction that came with the footage in the video. He explained this is why most of the manhunts don't get an uneditted version. I did find a video once myself that showed a failed manhunt. They somehow knocked him off a mountain within the 20 minute mark, then dream asked if they wanted to go again. He also admitted that they have Calahan, an normally unseen player, spawn in the world first to make sure they have a good spawn point. You can see that player's name whenever he pulls up the little screen that shows all the players who are on the server. He even talks to them a few times, such as that time dream got killed by dolphins, or that time the compass was failing to work. Dream actually waited for him to fix the issue before continuing, because 'it wasn't fair'. So yes, he is only sharing the interesting videos. As for scripting, maybe he is or not. Regarding coming up with tricks before hand, he admitted that one of the hunters actually told him about the flying machine he used to get to an end island. In the followup, he actually joked how that hunter had told him about the trick he was going to pull without realizing it. That hunter admitted that he was fooled really hard. Are they fake? If you count only uploading the interesting videos, maybe. Switching sound files around, maybe. As for the hunters just being dumb, that's why it isn't a 1v1. It started with just Dream and George, but George could rarely win. Keep in mind, in one of the last videos Dream straight dueled all the 5 hunters at once and won. He did make a video with technoblade once, thinking a better player could solve the issue, but the video just ended up being a bunch of duels that took forever. So the hunters are ganging up on him specifically because none of them could solo him. Maybe they really simply are that dumb. Though I admit, I find it rather heinous that he keeps exploiting George's colorblindness. George can't be blamed for the other hunters mistakenly telling him Dream drank a strength pot. But after that, Dream prioritized George, the one player that couldn't realize the mistake by simply taking another look at him. That always came across as rather dick to me. He literally exploited a disabled person. After finding out about George's colorblindness, I never saw the previous manhunts the same again. I couldn't help but see dream exploiting George's disability left and right. Also, regarding the most recent controversy, honestly I always though Dream kinda came across as arrogant. He's also sorta juvenile for his age. Maybe he really isn't that nice of a person. He doesn't raise any alarm bells for me (I am quick to notice dark triad traits due to my own history), but just because he's not a narcissist or psychopath doesn't mean he's a 'nice' guy.

Of course was covered in the video, but I just wanted to expand on it: I think what a lot of people fail to realize is that the reason a lot of these manhunt clips seem so fantastical is that there are a lot of outtake manhunts that the viewers never got to see, because they weren't good enough content. Dream confirmed as much himself in the same video the clip from 14:25 is from, that sometimes there are manhunts where he just has nothing all manhunt and dies in 10 mins, and of course that never gets uploaded because it's boring. Same goes for anticlimactic deaths: think back to all the times where Dream fell off a tree in the nether or burned for a while and lived with only half a heart. Well, there are certainly a bunch of times where Dream took half a heart more damage and died, for another boring video. As he said in the voice clip from 14:25, usually he needs some crazy luck to be able to win in a lot of these manhunts, and since a lot of the bad luck is cut out, this is why a lot of Dream's manhunt luck seems so crazy -- Dream's success in a video (and therefore the chance the manhunt is uploaded) is proportional to the number of crazy clutches he pulls off.

The one that really made me raise my eyebrow is when they all spawned on a mountain, and dream dives off before landing in a 3 block water source from a village farm. You can't even see the farm from that height, yet dream managed to get into one of the 3 squares perfectly

We know that spawning on the mountain was a set spawn point. Dream said Callahan finds good manhunt seeds beforehand and thought being on the mountain was cool. If he would have died, then they just do it again. Also, I haven't watched it in a while, but I believe he saw the water right when he started running.

Playing on a server does not give you more crafting time. The packet for the server to realize that you are far away enough from the crafting table to be kicked out definitely does have a delay before it reaches the client, but the same time is applied to having to OPEN the crafting table, which cancels it out. You can try it in game, which is why when you are lagged out you are unable to open a crafting table. On top of this, there is also a packet delay for the boat to appear in the crafting slot because crafting is also server-side.

Just to be clear about the boat clutch thing, it isn't true that multiplayer servers give an increased crafting distance. Dream's specific server jar had a modification to increase the crafting distance. He had initially said on reddit "servers crafting distance is further than survival" which many people interpreted as him meaning multiplayer servers in general, but he later clarified that he was in fact referring to his server specifically. Side note, he claims that it's just a coincidence that his server jar has this modification, as they use a custom server jar with various random tweaks. Whether you believe that's true, or think it's more likely that the stunt was planned in advance and he found he needed to make this modification to make it more doable is up to you.

I’ve noticed every 5-10 years the internet chooses to hate on a particular person because it is cool. When I was younger it was Justin Bieber, then the Paul brothers, dream, and finally Ishowspeed. So what if he fakes or doesn’t fake his content he is entertaining the next generation of gamers and we could have a lot worse

With Justin Bieber, imo it was pure jealousy. He was a talented kid, but the target audience was not mature, and the internet was becoming a thing which made hateful voices much easier to hear. With the Paul brothers, I haven't watched their stuff but from what I've seen, it's uncontroversial to call them dicks. Not evil or anything like that, just extremely insensitive and unaware. Not good role models. With Dream, what I feel is that he doesn't come across as a genuine person. Maybe he wants to be good, but also was raised by a narcissist or something. These issues always keep popping up in his wake, cheating on his speedruns, scripting his manhunts (which imo he is totally within his rights to do but the issue is if he did do that, he subsequently lied about it by saying he didn't), the accusations of underage grooming (which, again, he's managed to skirt around but it is still worrying). And every time he offers his excuses, they come across as trying to skirt around the issue and save face instead of being genuine apologies or explanations. With ishowspeed, seems to me like he just has a personality that isn't everyone's cup of tea. He's outgoing, bold, but he doesn't come across as a bad person to me by any means. Not the kind of person I'd make friends with, simply because I couldn't handle his energy, and his content is not my cup of tea, but the little I've seen of him outside of his content (doing interviews and the like) he seems like he has a decent head on his shoulders.

With dream I wasn’t aware of the grooming accusations and with the speedrun cheating accusations we can never 100% know if he did it intentionally but at the end of the day if I was in his shoes and I could be rich and not have to worry about money ever again and all I have to do is fake a couple of speedruns and have a few scripted videos your damn right I would do it and 90% of the people would do the same. Yeah it would hurt my morals but it’s not hurting anyone but the difference is at the end of all of it I would be honest and say yeah I faked all that shit and disappear like a fart in the wind

He finished filling the pattern while passing 22nd plank (which is 5.5 plank blocks) and moved the cursor, picking up the boat from crafting table by 25th plank (6.25 plank blocks) and shortly after that the interface closed on its own, when he passed 28 planks (7 full blocks). Timeline also match the falling speed in Minecraft (78.4 m/s). Besides that, I think the crafting table was put there on purpose, or it was really there from previous fight and meanwhile running near, he could say "wait, wait. I have a epic Idea for a stunt, but I need 1 or 3 tries". And they could stage it. In his video (where he was watching 5vs1 mandhunt Grand Finalle and commenting), he literally admitted doing the same trick with TNT cannon stunt (they get it done at only the 3rd attempt), and explained it as "You know, it is KZbin, this sorta things have to be PERFECT, so we have to, you know... so you would like the video" ;) To be frank, me as an audience, I don't care if majority of his stunts are staged, because the content is AWESOME!!!

I was speaking from the content-making perspective, my opinion is different :) I enjoyed Dream's content, but some staged moments ARE ANNOYING (like, the opposite team (hunters) rarely crafting and acquiring bows and stack of arrows (MUST HAVE THING in any PvP), I saw Sap shooting 3 times quite literally into the sky while running on flat ground for dramatic effect because Dream was on 0.5 heart, the same with lava buckets (they never do that), never destroying Blaze spawners, Dream burning around 15-20% of the loot when has to burn 80-90%, portals are rarely trapped (for real, like with really NASTY traps), they never repeat the same mechanics and strategies, trying to be original on KZbin, when could just abuse 1 that working)... Etc etc etc If one played Minecraft long enough, especially on PvP servers, it is easy to tell what is different about Dream's videos from how it really works in the real manhunt :) But, the content is GREAT :) Think of it from the perspective of contribution to the Minecraft community. He - alone - brought a fresh air to Minecraft :) Now, there are a lot of channels that got a boost doing programming in Minecraft, challenges, manhunts, twists, etc The boost of views and subs - inspires creators, so they contribute to the community even more :) Video of yours has happened only because he "stages" and prepares most of his stunts. If it could be average content, you could never make this video - as there was nothing to debunk - and this dialogue could never happen ;) P.s. And he is a good player after all. I won't be able to do even half of those small little things that make his play, so I can't make a good manhunt video by myself. I have the hypothesis of double (or triple) vocal calls to heavily script everything. There must be like 2 to 8 invisible guys coordinating everything: filling chests, spawning dolfins, giving directions to the closest bastion and directing the hunters in the traps. Very doable and explains 80% of all that BS. And that may also explain why the hunters are always shouting so much and so loud, to surpass the constant directing noises they hear. Watchers really seem to forget one crucial thing when watching these: they have the luxury to be stress-free, while the players have a lot of things to worry about. One thing that is not touched upon in the video is, the runs that are uploaded are the runs where Dream makes it to the Nether. Dream says there have been a lot of runs where he dies in the opening chase. What we got is the result of few of these runs. 1. The Fake Potion: With the habit of Dream destroying them with a simple Strength potion, you can bet your ass the hunters are not going to fight Dream with a massive disadvantage. When Bad warned others about Dream taking a Strength potion, the others would not question it, because to them, "Dream has Strength" is the equivalent of "we're screwed if we engage". After that, it's easy to guess they are not going to think further on the matter. 3. The crafting table boat clutch: Again, this is a situation where it's do or die - if he died, this Manhunt wouldn't have been uploaded. Dream isn't just a speedrunner, he is a great Minecraft player, playing all sort of games in it that require skills, which have the side effect of being useable in manhunts. 4. The Invisibility potion: I shouldn't have to explain that one? The whole point of the stunt is to confuse the hunters. For the rest, this is little more than your standard magician's magic trick. Shuffling with Bad is meant to make it hard to tell them apart. As a viewer, you see who is Dream, but from Sapnap's POW, you're going from fighting to figuring out who to fight. 5. Interdimensional TNT: So uh... The thing about continuously doing Manhunts is, both Dream and the Hunters are learning from their mistakes. If it feels staged, this iss because Dream learns more traps and trap counters so he has a chance of winning. Essentially, tell yourself that Dream and the Hunters needs to have a better understanding of Minecraft than your average player. 6.
