Callahan actually chooses each seed that is played in the manhunts. They are specifically chosen to make the video interesting. However, the skill that Dream plays in these seeds are undeniable, is that the situations are unknown regardless if they knew about the seed overall or not. Dream is truly the king of Minecraft Manhunt. His luck was insanely good.

I think a couple of them, such as the desert temples’ apples, can be attributed to Callahan. He apparently scouts a lot of these seeds before dream and the others actually do anything on them. He looks at cool spawns, yes, but I’m assuming he also looks at what environments appear around them. Villages and other buildings make the manhunt more interesting.

The biggest reason Dream does so well in these manhunt videos is because he's very ingenuitive, and that makes the hunters wary of him. They have to be careful when they lose him because he could either be gaining distance away from them and gathering resources and making a Nether portal or he could be setting a trap to undo their own progress. They don't necessarily fear him but they are intimidated by him, especially when they haven't seen him in quite some time and don't know what all he has or has been up to. Dream is very well educated with the game's mechanics, and the hunters KNOW that. He looks up and practices different mechanics to use to his advantage in these manhunt videos. And the fact that they're always surprised when he pulls off the stunts he learns tells us that they don't prepare as well as Dream does. They have the numbers but Dream has the brains to outwit them, most of the time.

i think one of the things beneficial to dream is the fact they have to communicate with him in the call giving him leverage on that end where he can hide whats hes doing whereas they really cant unless theyre somehow all together for a time

Intimidation is heavily luck-based. If you can scare away your enemies, you can prevent a fight altogether and that’s EXACTLY what Dream wanted in this case. He is clearly at a major disadvantage with low HP that he can be one-shot and low saturation that disables him from running away. Dream is well aware that he can’t win in a 1v1 in his current state, so he decided to go all in on intimidation to prevent getting into one, hoping to buy himself some time to recover, which does fortunately happen.

If the 4 hunters, especially Sapnap, weren’t fooled by his intimidation, everything would’ve ended for Dream right then and there.

A key factor for there being so much luck is the rule they have for manhunts. If the hunters kill him within 20 minutes, they win a card prize and the challenge restarts, so he will have enough footage for a good video. And because the hunters are very skilled, dream only survives long enough for the video on his absolute best runs. This requires a combination of incredible luck and insane skill

This was probably released before the final manhunt, so I get why these moments weren’t on here, but there were two moments in the final manhunt that Dream had insane luck on: 1. Very early in the video, the hunters all but won. Dream was at low health and saturation, he was towered in the air with no way to get down, two of the hunters were making sure he didn’t try to get down, and all the hunters had diamond armor. It seemed like the end, until one of the hunters that were also towered up threw down his bucket to another hunter who needed it (not sure why he did). Acting quickly. Dream jumped off the ledge, grabbed the water bucket, and water mlg’ed to survive. He then stole the fish the hunters were cooking to regain saturation before running off again. Without the hunter throwing the bucket and the others cooking fish at the bottom, Dream would’ve died. 2. At the end of the video, Dream and the hunters had a final showdown. Dream killed all the hunters except George with TNT before bouncing off a slime block and using water to let him survive in order to face George. The two battled, knocking each other off. Dream fell into the falling water from the water he placed and picked up immediately before the showdown while George tried pearling to the mainland of the end. George, however, died on impact, causing him to drop his stuff at the edge of the mainland. Seeing this, Dream used the fishing rod he had to try grabbing the ended pearls George dropped, which were at the edge of the cliff. After a few attempts, Dream successfully fished the pearls, allowing him to pearl onto the mainland and finish off the dragon to win. Without the water Dream placed earlier AND George’s failed attempt to survive by pearling onto the mainland, Dream would’ve lost.

It mostly stage and scripted. They come up with good ideas about what they want to do in the videos, like interesting ways Dream can escape. The maps are all hand picked and scouted out for interesting locations. During filming they monitor Dream's health if he is low, the group will back off. They have restore points to where if Dream does accidentally die, they can restore to a point. HOWEVER: A lot of it is still skill and doing some crazy stunts.

@@fragbeauty "is it possible to do it first try without every having trained for it" Dream was already planning on making a boat, 2 he literally does train for manhunt practicing every way to mlg to survive fall dmg, speed of crafting, finding things in his inv/hotbar etc I've seen him show some of the ways he trains. He comes up with plans for traps to beat the hunters for every video so that may be why you think it's "scripted" but if he didn't he's just running around with no goal or idea of what to do and has to come up with several plans on the top of his head (cause the hunters do respawn). But it isn't scripted, unless not diving into a 1v5 with no plan on how to beat 5 people multiple times is scripting, or not using videos where he dies like 2 minutes in or in a very boring way.

Real quick, the shear clutch had even more luck, because the way Sapnap placed it meant that just the 1 corner block was in his way, if it was two leaves, he probably wouldn’t have made it, and if it was the center with wood underneath, he definitely would’ve kicked it.

Callahan needs to choose good seeds that Dream has a decent chance at escaping the hunters on otherwise he’d fail manhunts early on in the begging a lot over all slowing down how quickly we see him upload. 4:57 I completely agree that the original hit man was legendary. 11:50 And they wouldn’t have uploaded it because Dream died right of the start, of course I think you knew that.

The funny and the craziest clutch I ever see is the one that Dream shout in his microphone "come here" that make Sapnap scare! Right before this video, I have watched Karl's investigation on the Dream speedrun controversy. And in that video, it is relatively clear that they are using a mod that increases the chances of such rare item loot in chests. IMO that could be disclosed a bit more clearly, but it definitely makes the series more entertaining.

However whenever I played with my friends on Java there is always a ton of good loot. Fun fact: He used a mod/plugin to make his luck better, to all those Dream stans, he actually deleted his apology post after being exposed. In that post, he said everything and it was screenshoted by someone. No hate, just fun fact
