​@@DTArchiveHe sounds pretty much in tune on that part tbh. His tone and technique may be debatable, but he sounds a bit more "stable" than recent years and much better than videos from last year's Dreamsonic tour. You can't expect 1992 level performances from him anymore.

@@gianfrixmg He's flat all throughout that passage. No one is expecting him to rise to his stature in the early 90s, but I don't see any basis for claiming he sounds "very good" either. If he got better just recently, it would only be a trivial improvement, and not enough to justify his place in the band after the last 10 years of doggerel.

@@DTArchive If you mean "flat" as in pitch, not that much. If you mean "flat" as in tone, you may be right but that's how he approaches high notes now. I know you had/have kind of a personal dislike towards JLB and I'm not trying to convince you otherwise if you don't like how he sings now. I'm just saying I was expecting much worse this year considering the "Evening With" format they are doing again this tour and the disastrous singing of last year. If there's one song I'm not liking how he sings now is Metropolis. This one is good.

Maybe it's because he's not trying to play it like the actual record. He is playing it in his own style. Just like Mangini played various classical parts in his own style, which is fine. No need to make unnecessary comparisons.

I don't like DT with Mangini sounds, the fill in an accent was like arcade game, to much snare, drum trigger and E-drums sounds, i like the natural accent fill in at DT songs like Portnoy did, he used fill in with synchronized accent sounds of stacks, splash, hihat , tom, china and octoban
