Okay. So I only recently discovered your channel and I love your stuff man and I love your down to earth attitude! I literally JUST watched your video about the guy who got offended because your reply to his comment was just the " ;) " wink face. I just want to make this known. I have left comments on LOTS of youtube drummers videos, but had NEVER EVEN ONCE got a reply from the drummer themselves. Honestly, when I got the notification and saw that YOU had ACTUALLY responded I was OVER THE MOON! I ran to my girlfriend and was like "BABE HE ACTUALLY READ MY COMMENT!!" I know that sounds ridiculous, but I fanboy-ed like crazy! haha! Anyway my point is that even though its just a wink it means so much more than that. It means you take the time to read what your viewers have to say and you are actually humble about what you do! I just really felt the need to say all this. You need to know that it totally blew my mind that you actually read my comment and responded. So Thank You Josh!!!

@@parallelparkdaudette2863 Mangini plays in a very different way. His weird drumkit setting allows him to open another realm of the instrument. Not to say about his speed... I think Josh is capable, though it hardly wouldn't sound exact because of the kit setting.

You do an awesome job man I've been watching your videos and tried to learn some of the stuff you do. You have great technique and break things down so people can understand them. Keep up the videos man I really enjoy them and just a suggestion is you should check out parkway drive Ben Gordon does a lot of good drum work in the horizons and deep blue albums. Check out sleepwalker and his double bass action and fills. I'm sure it's nothing to a man of your skills but I've been struggling. Anyways man thanks for the videos and telling it like it is you do a great job and I hope one day I can build up to your skill set.

@enricorossi93849 жыл бұрын
I'm trying to learn drums; your videos helps me a lot. Thank you very much. Being your fan I have some inputs for you: 1)I propose you to play Dave Lombardo''s "Angel of Death" live version from The Live Download Festval 06.12.2005. I love that version so much, hope you agree :-) 2)Since you can play Portnoy very well (I can't play 2 notes in a row from DT songs...) If a day you have some time, it would be wonderful if you try something of Marco Minnemann. He is very very technical player but he is also very fluid. A lot of people prefer him to Mangini. For example you can try something of "The Aristocrats" (songs Stupid 7 or Desert Tornado or Bad Asteroid) or something of Marco's last album "Above the Roses". These songs are more rock progressive with some Frank Zappa elements, they are not metal, but very interesting. But, however if you like to play only metal there is also "Life of Dante" album where Minnemann plays both progressive metal and thrash/death metal. It's a very hard "punch in the face" but amazing technical album. An underrated gem. If you like Portnoy and Lombardo you will find both of them mixed together there. 3)I think that if you like Portnoy/Mangini you would like YYZ by RUSH. The drummer is Neil Peart. Portnoy said "Peart was my god". Is it enough to say? It's not metal, but you should give a try, maybe you like it. Have a nice day Josh. You are a very talented person.
