@@JukkaPlanespotting The videos also don't lie, unfortunately; the camera can only capture what is put in front of it. There's no crazy hocus pocus going on; cell phones are not responsible for making LaBrie "sound" worse than he is. I do understand and appreciate the sonic differences in live sound between actually sitting at the show amidst the crowd and watching recorded footage, but the objective reality underneath in either case that remains unaffected is that LaBrie is struggling, and is off key 90% of the time. Camera's don't distort reality and make LaBrie sound out of tune, he is out of tune whether there are cameras recording or not.

There are many signs that they've been financially struggling since the time of The Crapstonishit. That album had many unnecessary tie-in products. Petrucci has a new "signature guitar" every 5 minutes, and keeps releasing lame consoomer products like the signature whiskey and cologne. Almost every social media post by Rudess includes some type of product plug. I've also heard that Rudess likes hiring non-unionized musicians as a way of paying them sub-industry standard wages. They would probably be making a lot more money without LaBrie repulsing so many people.

watched some other footage of other songs. Panic attack and Constant motion sounded decent. This...still needs some smoothing out for sure 🥲

It definitely seems to me that James's problem, more than his vocal cords, is his hearing, yes. He is not hearing himself well, which is why he strains his voice and raises it so much and with such force that he screams distorted....no one in the environment can tell him that if he does not strain his voice enough to be heard from Jupiter, his voice will go well with the music and you will hear his soft timbre of voice and not those distorted screams ???? Look, when he's not straining his voice so much in despair as if he were drowning, he can be heard well and his real voice tone appears....it's as if he wanted to sing like when he was twenty in the days of images and words and that's why he breaks and the voice breaks so much!!!!

If Portnoy left because he was tired of JLB's voice 14 years ago, what is he thinking now? I feel sorry for James, but bro, he needs to realize that his voice is over?

Labrie has to realize that he has to step aside from the band and find a way to end his chapter in the band in the best possible way.

Hard agree. The return of Portnoy has clearly overshadowed the fact that LaBrie can't do it anymore. But it's gotta come from him. The band won't say anything. At least that's what I think.

@@terriblecrayon For me it's the other way around. I went to see them in 2022 and although not perfect, James was definitely enjoyable as was the rest of the band. Portnoy is one of my biggest influences growing up (Liquid Drum Theater, anyone?) and his return should be the biggest deal EVER for me. However... seeing how James performed the last few shows with Mangini, something changed. It's gone from good/okay to downright unlistenable. The tickets are not very cheap, and even though Portnoy came back and I was willing to spend the money, I can't explain it to myself knowing Labrie is performing like this. I genuinely skipped the show because of this. You can't even listen 'through' the bad parts like this, it's just ... BAD.

labrie è stato un grande cantante ma ora deve ritirarsi, la sua voce è gravemente compromessa ormai da anni... forse fino al 2012-13 poteva ancora farcela ma ora è solo di grande imbarazzo per tutti, se ne deve fare una ragione. solo in studio può ancora fare bene con i vari aiuti tecnologici ma dal vivo è out !
