I love the polyrhythm that Portnoy does on the cymbals, near 5:54.

Now we just need a Dream Theater cover of Rush and a badass performance of "La Villa Strangito" and I can die happy!
@FloydianSinan7 жыл бұрын
In my point of view, bass guitar in this song should be always played with pick to catch its the original tone. Also, saxophonist is Norbert Stachel who played with Roger Waters in 2000 and 2002. That means, he initially played Money with the owner of this song ;)
@drjohnsmith52825 жыл бұрын
I agree - as a bass player I always use a pick for this

I've been a fan of DT for a while, and I too feel that DT need to rekindle the flame they ignited with their great albums like I&W and Awake. ADTOE was pretty much the same old stuff again.

It's been so long I don't even know what I meant when I wrote that comment. But no, I like Pink Floyd as much as I like Dream Theater, so I'm not saying that it's a bad thing that Floyd is more mainstream then DT, just that more people have heard of Pink Floyd, and sometimes this makes them assume they are better.

6:10 The singer gives the look to John Petrucci.... " I can't reach that high of a note" Or maybe JP just played that note to piss off the singer.... I can't remember his name.

James' top note ever is a B5 and he can pretty comfortably sing an A5... 😎

I think there would be no DT without a PF. Or at least Dream Theater would not be as great as it is without Pink Floyd. If that wasn't a fact i think you wouldn't be hearing a cover to Pink Floyd played by Dream Theater. (That's my opinion, no drama bitches please.) :)
@bvq3304 ай бұрын
That's true. Pink Floyd is one of their main influences.
@dav2464217 жыл бұрын
i agree with you but its is normal that labre cannot sing that son aswell as Gilmour... it is not his song
@Pakal77112 жыл бұрын
It's not Gilmour's song either...
@chedro12 жыл бұрын
@GeorgeADTOE u cant say dream theater is better than pink floyd thats just stupid ... .. u can mix oranges and apples... u cant compare between them .. thats just wrong!!!!
@ilikeshred15 жыл бұрын
why compare DT to PF? Both make the music they love. The skill is only a tools to do the music you wanna make. Other than that skills only offer you to explore other sounds, still if you have found the sound you like, being overly skill is useless most of the time! I prefer DT but its only IMO.
@Besart.S6 жыл бұрын
Must have been a kinnda boring for Portnoy. The solo is off this world!!!!
@Lemaster231616 жыл бұрын
Dude, I can't believe you just said that. Gilmour smashes whoever there guitar player is. he played like 15 of the best solos ever. ever!!!!!! 15. most are luckey to have 1. witch this dude dosen't.
@kavian0611 жыл бұрын
I expected the bridge to be a loooooooooooooot longer, just listen to Floyd's delicate sound of thunder version, not even close Dream Theater! I've seen better covers from mediocre bands...
@nickahousan644416 жыл бұрын
Pink Floyd is mainstream. Dream Theater is not.

Minute 6:10 is the best! Labrie face 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Nobody noticed that??? Man are u serious I am trying to sing along the notes you take on your guitar and you came with very high notes??? You can do better 😂😂

@floyderiksen201311 жыл бұрын
gilmour and waters sang better than labrie who is a singer specializing ....how can a group so run with a vocalist such?
@roadrunneruntd11 жыл бұрын
That's because mediocre bands spend more time perfecting other peoples songs and not their own.
