LYRICS
"Hold it now...wait a minute...come on... whew..."
Just let me catch my breath...
I've heard the promises
I've seen the mistakes
I've had my fair share of tough breaks
I need a new voice, a new law, a new way
Take the time, reevaluate
It's time to pick up the pieces,
Go back to square one
I think it's time for a change
There is something that I feel
To be something that is real
I feel the heat within my mind
And craft new changes with my eyes
Giving freely wandering promises
A place with decisions I'll fashion
I won't waste another breath
[Chorus:]
You can feel the waves coming on
(It's time to take the time)
Let them destroy you or carry you on
(It's time to take the time)
You're fighting the weight of the world
But no one can save you this time
Close your eyes
You can find all you need in your mind
The unbroken spirit
Obscured and disquiet
Finds clearness this trial demands
And at the end of this day sighs an anxious relief
For the fortune lies still in his hands
If there's a pensive fear, a wasted year
A man must learn to cope
If his obsession's real,
Suppression that he feels must turn to hope
Life is no more assuring than love
(It's time to take the time)
There are no answers from voices above
(It's time to take the time)
You're fighting the weight of the world
And no one can save you this time
Close your eyes
You can find all that you need in your mind
I close my eyes
And feel the water rise around me
Drown in the beat of time
Let my senses fall away
I can see much clearer now, I'm blind
"Adesso che ho perso la vista,
Ci vedo meglio e di piu"

Amen, to all of the comments! When they parted ways with Portnoy it really pegged the needle on the this-sucks-o-meter. Mike Mangini is a gentlemen’s gentleman, but he’s not Portnoy. Truly one of the most epic and unique ProgRock groups out there and perhaps will ever be...

When I was a student in the early 90's, before falling asleep, I used to lie down in my bed with my finger on the TV on/off button and listen to MTV Headbangers' Ball. I was drowsy and almost ready to push the button when this tracked was aired. After a short while I was up and waiting for the track to end so that I could get the artist and song title on a piece paper. The next day I had the CD in my player....

Indeed, Dream Theater has maintained a unique position even after 30 years. Their sound and compositional style are highly original, and it is difficult to find bands that imitate or resemble them. They have played a crucial role in defining and developing the progressive metal genre, establishing a distinctive identity with their complex structures, technical proficiency, and innovative sound. They have combined technical skill with creativity to produce music that transcends the passage of time, leaving a lasting impression on many people. Bands with such originality and enduring influence are very rare, and Dream Theater has firmly established its unique position in the music world.

An album full of musicality, but that 80's audio mix makes it sound old, luckily they improved that detail in "Awake" from 1994, where the sound sounds modern and very in line with the time, here in "Images And Words" Dream Theater sound very 80's, and this song proves it.

I prefer this song live. It's even longer than the song on the album. John Petrucci's guitar solo at the end is just as long as this music video!

Just the coolest G.D song ever. Can't stand how it was so chopped up and shortened for radio play & Mtv

Hold it now! Wait a minute Come on! Just let me catch my breath I've heard the promises I've seen the mistakes I've had my fair share of tough breaks Need a new voice, a new law, a new way Take the time, reevaluate It's time to pick up the pieces Go back to square one I think it's time for a change There is something that I feel To be something that is real I feel the heat within my mind And craft new changes with my eyes Giving freely-wandering promises A place with decisions I'll fashion I won't waste another breath You can feel the waves coming on (it's time to take the time) Let them destroy you or carry you on (it's time to take the time) You're fighting the weight of the world, but no one can save you this time Close your eyes, you can find all you need in your mind Unbroken spirit, obscured and disquiet Finds clearness this trial demands And at the end of this day sighs an anxious relief For the fortune lies still in his hands If there's pensive fear, a wasted year A man must learn to cope If his obsession's real Suppression that he feels must turn to hope Life is no more assuring than love (it's time to take the time) There are no answers from voices above (it's time to take the time) You're fighting the weight of the world, but no one can save you this time Close your eyes, you can find all you need in your mind Close my eyes And feel the water rise around me Drown the beat of time Let my senses fall away I can see much clearer now, I'm blind Ora che ho perso la vista, ci vedo di più Find all you need in your mind If you take the time Find all you need in your mind If you take the time Terjemahkan ke bahasa Indonesia

DREAM THEATER is AWESOME! Has anyone seen them in Concert? I would love to see them at Carolina Rebellion, but I don't know if they play with other bands anymore. FATES WARNING is good too. I do believe TRIVIUM opened up for them. DREAM THEATER is my favorite band. Then SEVENDUST!

As amazing as they are (and obviously I realise they are amazing no matter who fronts) but seriously my ex is Conservatorium grade and he still struggles to this day to find a vocalist who can cut it!
