Considering Kevin Moore was ''the real deal'' of DT and nothing they did without him comes even close to 1992 ''Images & Words'' I don't find it out of place - his keyboard parts were amazing.

@@justin.hombach he destroyed his voice when he ruptured his vocal cords after a bout of bad food poisoning and then went on tour 10 days later when he shouldn't have been singing for 6 months.

@@TeamYouphoric You know that it‘s proven that this was not the main reason. I will not doubt that he had one, but it‘s something they used to say officially as an excuse. The main reason was his singing style, there are some really good videos about this somewhere here on KZbin, where professional vocal coaches describes the problems with that kind of singing style

I agree.. I think Jurden Rudess has like 47 seconds of good stuff his whole career with DT... The rest is just note BS... And Magina plays like a girl with a pretentious drum kit and sound... I think they have one good song since Mc Portnoy's absence

It was it's own little ditty back then. It was called 'puppies on acid'. It only became 'the mirror' when they made it into a full song during writing the 'Awake' album

LaBrie is straight fire here. You can tell his voice is shredded but he just channels it into more grit and aggressiveness.

First off, I love how the keyboard is so loud here, that was kinda my main complaint w the og song that it wasn’t loud enough unless it was the main part (dont take this as me shitting on the song its literally my favourite song!!!) Second, the guests on the stage (the people w the, uh, stick? And the guys in the white hoodies) were absolute dorks i love their energy lmfao /gen

Came back to this video and forgot I commented this lol Ive checked out the rest of their discography and this is no longer my favourite song, BUT it still holds a special place in my heart :3 (favourite songs are Solitary Shell/Six Degrees, Scarred, Vacant/Stream of Consciousness, In The Presence of Enemies Part 2, Misunderstood, and Awaken the Master :3)

Time passes, people change with age, nothing good lasts forever. The great music that Dream Theater created in their prime will always be there for us to enjoy...and thanks to sites like KZbin, we get to watch concert footage of when they were hungry and eager to take over the world.

Yeah, he probably wishes he didn’t have it either. It wasn’t his only injury though, he had a second major he talked about recently. And he had a few vocal teachers that just completely confused him, along with portnoy demanding him sing a certain way that screwed him up, and fans barking at him like rabid dogs

I still love their older music A LOT! Those were the days. This vid is hilarious and sexy in my female eyes. They are truly gifted and hardworking musicians, but hey… I didn’t mind looking at their fluttering long manes either 🎼😇

Me and my wife saw them in Minneapolis the night before same set up same hair. Was the best concert I’ve ever been at. And my first of Several times met them all twice in meet n greets

Seeing Dreamtheater for the first time on this tour in the Paramount theater in Seattle in 93 with the Galactic Cowboys was one of my most memorable shows this was magical chemistry at its best wasn't the same when Kevin left Rush Farewell to kings tour was my first concert i seen Victoria BC 77 and Dreamtheater gave that musical feeling back to my soul great memories for life 👏👍
