I'm not usually very big on reaction videos... But I have to say that you guys are a genuine joy to watch. I have been a Dream theater fan since 1992, and it's almost like hearing this song for the first time all over again...when I watch the emotions on your faces. Dream theater really are an absolute treasure that I have bee in love with for 27 years now... And to see your faces express so much feeling and soul when listening to this song. I actually teared up a couple times when you guys did, even though I have heard this song countless times. That was fun....Feel free to do some more. 😉

I so appreciated the genuine and raw emotional reactions to this song....thank you...it was a pleasure to anticipate certain parts of the songs and see them get noticed by both of you. It brought a smile to my face many times and felt like I was "introducing" you to the song in a way. I always get emotional during the later middle part of the song with Petrucci's "solo". You guys are officially ready to react to "The Glass Prison" ;) But seriously, I know you guys love the "soaring" quality of some of DT's songs, so I strongly advise you to check out "Voices", which is from the "Awake!" album. It's LaBrie at his best, and the band sounds so tight! For their thrashier, grittier side, listen to "Honor Thy Father" (or, basically, most of the songs on their "Train of Thought" album).
@nexuslang5 жыл бұрын
@@fp7026 but have they reacted to them online? As long as they're already taking the DT journey, they might as well go into their masterpiece concept albums/songs, including "Six Degrees", "Scenes froim a Memory", "Images and Words", "A Change of Seasons"... @calibadgerdude60825 жыл бұрын
The riffage in this song is insane. Not just because it’s super fast, but because it is almost CONSTANTLY changing. It rarely repeats a phrase more than twice before switching to a different pattern, all while seemingly random polyrhythmic stuff is happening in the background with the drums. And they make it sound so effortless. In my opinion, this is DT at the very peak of their game. Such a shame this is the last album Portnoy recorded with them. No shade on Mangini, he’s a fantastic drummer and has found his own niche within the band, but nobody can play with the passion and power that Portnoy could. There was always a kind of carefree exuberance to his playing that balanced out the technicality and prevented it from sounding sterile.
@DbladeMedic5 жыл бұрын
This this right here. I dont want to start up a debate between portnoy and mangini. But in my opinion this is why i like portnoy more not to say mangini is bad hes not i love his drumming too but mangini sounds like a drum machine his playing is way to technical and perfect. Portnoy sounds like he is the soul of the band when he drums

you guys are amazing - an honest and deep visceral response to art. I remember the way i felt the first time I saw paintings by the artist Cezanne, the first time I saw London from the top of the Shard .... life is about moments, taking a second to share a moment with those that mean the most to us, when we can do that and experience art together for the first time ... it's even more special. Please keep sharing - I enjoy your genuine and personal interpretations of Dream Theater's art. Music connects us, on so many levels and in turn, helps all of us to grow together. Your unspoken heartfelt moments illustrate and tell a story for all of us to incorporate into our own library of life's moments ..... and that sharing helps us all to learn and appreciate things on so many different levels. Many thanks for everything that you do. You guys are great!

I don't know why many people don't get Dream Theater. I've been I fan ever since I heard Pull Me Under back in 1992. I don't care if it's Portnoy or Mangini on drums (although I do miss DT's chemistry with him). I don't care if it's Rudess, Sherinian, or Moore on keyboards. Their music is just so awe inspiring and epically intense. Now I'm almost 46 and DT's music still makes me feel like when I was 20. With that said, could you please do me the honor and react to one of my all time favorites: Octavarium (both live and studio versions). Also if you want to see them in their full instrumental glory please react to Acid Rain Live in LA (with guest bass player Tony Levin of King Crimson). They did a side project called Liquid Tension Experiment and produced two amazing instrumental albums. Acid Rain is from one of those albums. Thank you so much for your reactions!!!
