Playing a fretless alone makes one a better player. When I got one I played it for 2 weeks straight and didn’t touch my other basses, and when I finally did, my playing was cleaned up on the other basses

I dunno about anyone else, but having been primarily an upright classical player and playing on both fretted and fretless instruments, I really love the feel of my fretless. I am used to using my ear to play in tune and I never feel like I'm fighting the frets. My fretless still has the lines, but in a song as fast as this, you're not really watching the notes so much as just your shifting.
