Hear me out. The egg can take over people it gets it’s influence on. Dream has influenced ranboo and is now in his head. However the egg can be countered and reverses the mind control when in cased and in obsidian but can still control people who are inside of it. Dreams cell is obsidian and ranboo outside of the cell or something dream has touched doesn’t get effected by his influence. Coincidence I think not!!!! Edit: Sir billiam in Karl’s time travel says that he is the eggs protector and that there is always a person that does that and it seems that bbh is that person but what if dream always knew about the egg. What if he is using bbh and ant as his “undercover guards” and he will tell them to break him out under the eggs influence

Ok so this is a different theory I found on a comment section that I would like to share: (all credit goes to the guy that commented this) "Ranboo is a time traveler like Karl too. But he time travelled to much. In the in-between you loose memories right? So, Ranboo was in the in-between for too long/too many times and this caused him to have his memories permanently messed up. Nice theory, but the being in the in between doesn’t make you lose memories. The in between is the place that is teaching Karl to be able to make his mind stronger, and be able to control the bad effects from time traveling, which is to lose memories. If Ranboo had been In the in between for that long as that person said, the in between would had all been opened up, with all its secrets shown. Instead, as Karl travels, more and more things start to appear and more places open up.

That would make more sense, especially since Karl has shown signs of forgetting who he is the more he time travels. Also, to adjust the theory a bit, what if Ranboos white side is more of a scar rather than a "part" of him? Whether that be from possibly building the in-between or just by time traveling, I don't know. Anyways, thanks for pointing that out.

I also think the real reason the crying obsidian was added was because of Rayworks video on making a nether portal in the cell with the obsidian. Another thing I noticed and also supports the idea of Ranboo blowing up the TNT (maybe a bit far fetched but idk): Ranboo was online during Tommy's visit, yet in the stream later Ranboo said he had no idea that anything even happened to Tommy. Ofc stuff that happens when he's not part of the scene is not really canon knowledge (if he watches someone else's stream and there's lore his character technically doesn't know it) but he was on the server and he definitely could read chat (unless in-game chat isn't canon). Him Enderwalking would explain why he doesn't know/remember anything happening to Tommy

Here’s a theory: Ranboo and dream planned this. They waited for Tommy’s next visit and dream would message ranboo when he’s in his cell. Then he’ll set off the tnt, and the security lockdown will trap him in the cell. So Ranboo is probably trying to carry out a mission dream wants, or Ranboo is helping the eggpire by getting rid of tommy. Or Ranboo tried to distract Sam so someone else or ranboo can sneak in to the prison and try to mess with stuff or break dream out. I think this theory is pretty good.

Also, I think if that war happened, either Quackity/Tommy/Tubbo would surely lose their last life. This was extremely good! Not many people realise about his eyes connecting with the egg and dream, i have a theory myself and it is pretty similar aswell. My theory is, ever since Ranboo could hear 'voices' (includes understanding the egg) he could be got effected with that brief moment at the hole of the eggpire's base, eversince he's part endermen, hearing voices, etc there's a possible chance of him getting controled very easily. Now, this is a bit of a stretch but- Ranboo and Dream's the same person at this point, so that means Dream could also hearing the egg's voice aswell (including Ranboo's) so what if, the egg manipulated Ranboo and Dream so both of them plan to kill Tommy? The egg once say to bbh that in order for them to take control of the Dream SMP Tommy must die, and when bbh visit, Dream was also given part of the egg from him, so there would be a chance that Dream got manipulated aswell like Ranboo. This was a good theory, keep up the good work :)

The thing that separates Tommy and Ranboo is how Dream views them. Ranboo is seen as a tool, something that he can dispose of once its out of use. There have been many tools in the past. Tubbo, Wilbur, Technoblade, Quackity, Fundy etc. Why would dream need tools? Well its obvious, for Tommy. Tommy is seen a a sorta key i guess to dream “you’re the key to unlock the full potential of this server”, Dream can not dispose of a key because if he does he wont be able to unlock anything. The Tools are just puppets dream uses to get a hold of the key. Even when Dream unlocks the full potential he’s still gonna need Tommy because what if the people rebel? What if they decide to stop dream? They can do it. So dream needs to keep Tommy with him to bonce back up again and he needs tools to be able to use them like that. Okay now, I might sound a bit crazy but: I think Dream wants Tommy to have that full potential too. I think dream wants Tommy to be his ally not his puppet. For the longest time Dream has been trying to get Tommy on his side, even before he noticed Tommy could be a key or whatever. Since the first few wars Dream has tried to convince Tommy to join him over and over again, bur he hasn’t done that with any other player really its always Tommy. It could be because he wants someone reckless under his watch at all times but there were a lot more people than tommy that were reckless. Even after finding out attachments are the way to the top Dream still wanted Tommy on his side, even in exile and even recently in prison “well we could escape this place together lets get out of here” “fuck off” “... well then there’s no way out” dream might want tommy on his side to have the hero everyone expects to save them constantly on his side perhaps thats it but if thats the case then dream notices how shitty people treat Tommy not only him himself. The dsmp members treat Tommy like shit 80% of the time and Tommy does treat others like shit too but tommy doesn’t go out taking their canon lives and such but they do to him. But then once theyre in trouble Tommy’s the one coming to save them all, Tommy’s making a team to protect L’Manberg and the server, Tommy’s the one leading the pogtopia rebellion, Tommy’s the one saving niki constantly, Tommy’s the one protecting tubbo all the time, Tommy’s the one making himself the hero because nobody else will. Then after That the people either like him as a hero then go back to killing him after or they pretend to be his friend and let him save them then go and hate him afterwards(of course not everyone). Dream probably realises that as he knows everything. Im really surprised Dream hasn’t pulled out this card yet because imagine how quickly you could turn his ways of thinking with this information. You could potentially bring out a villain arc in him once you actually show him proof. Ngl Tommy would make a pretty good villain. Not as a villain directly in the fight but watching from the sidelines and planning shit outside of battle. Once Tommy breaks he isnt his normal chaotic self anymore he’s either focused af or sad af. So imagine dream knows this and imagine the power he’d get from a villain arc. I mean he might not know of this way yet but soon enough lmao

Ranboo is not i think the one that did and I know that because ranboo only has hallucinations of dream and dream giving him deep thoughts in his head but foolish is a back character where he can be on any side its like techno he's on any side he was on pogtopia then he betrayed it leaves one man for himself (and im talking about foolish) so foolish is one guy where he can bail, him out and he would basically have an advantage because people might think it could be ranboo so then no one can expect that foolish could let out dream because ranboo was also the one who betrayed tubbo,fundy,and quackity so that could put so much more information that could help foolish. So thats why I think it could be foolish as the one who breaks out dream

Ranboo’s inventory has items in the order “he is in control” most likely meaning dream, I have a theory that Ranboo is dream’s son which explains the white part on his skin is like dream and the black part would be enderman because he has enderman powers and his eye color matches up too the green is dream and the red is the egg and the reason ranboo is trying to break dream out is because he remembered dream is his dad which he had forgotten before do to his memory loss and he touched the egg and didn’t get affected meaning he most likely already is do to his red eye

Ultimate plot twist: The egg has literally been controlling Dream since the beginning. The egg could have used Dream as a vessel to try and weaken specifically Tommy because the egg knew he was immune. The egg could have fed off of Dream and grew and grew until eventually it started getting noticed.

I think the egg is like a Broodmother from Dragon Age, but instead of spewing out Darkspawn, it's turning the Overworld into a pseudo-nether and is controlled by some kind of Dreamon Hive. Specifically, a Dreamon Hive that Dream is in control of. I think that Dream is in fact the Dreamon King, a changeling that swapped places with the real Dream, and is the one in the Prison, able to manipulate others, like how the egg influences BBH and how one of Ranboo's manifested voice sounds like Dream.
