Hey Josh, hope you plan on insulating that ceiling with some "thick" batts. That's where you lose most heat. As far a fruit trees, If you are lucky enough to find someone with a " northern spy" apple tree , it would be a wonderful addition. The fruit grows big, juicy, and a bit sower. Very snappy to bite into. The only thing with that apple tree is some years you'll have prop up the limbs so they don't break , and then some years the crop will be small. But it is a great apple.

You should install some timber frame beams. That would be super cool in there. What I would have done is bring the ceiling down and make a "suite" upstairs for guest bedroom or something like that.

Moving along nicely! If your yard isn't fenced in, you will probably want to put some protection up around the fruit trees or the deer will destroy them. 'Black Twig' is one of our favorite apple varieties here in NC.

Paw Paws, some people like them some people don't. They are super easy to grow and are about the size of an apple tree. I have two trees in the backyard that give me lots of fruit, fruit that you cannot get at your local supermarket, and don't forget to put in a couple nut trees.

looking good so far. i was wondering are you going to be adding a lot of lighting? when i converted my 20 x 20 garage into my shop i added 8 foot florescent's but i found out after the fact that i wish i had put lighting on the ceiling on it's own switch where the garage door would be when up, i could keep the lights off. because when the door is down that area is dark then i could flip the switch on the lights could be flipped on. just a suggestion. Next are you going to be running air lines in the ceiling to all your stations? I ran all PVC main and drop lines also had a central hose reel. yes i glued all the joints except where i have the line dryer and filters i use union's. also this is where you could make up a air line manifold by adding pressure gauges to different air main lines. i have a low pressure air line for my air brush painting and an separate line for my big finish sprayer. that way i never have to keep going back to change the pressure gauge on the compressor everytime need to spray somrytime, airbrush or air nail. (FYI). there is so much a person can do before closing up all the walls and ceiling. i hope i made some suggestions to help with your shop. keep up the great progress.

Diospyros Virginiana - American Persimmon. If you've never had a fully ripe persimmon, you're missing out! They grow well in that region. They are dioecious, so you'll need a male and female tree to get fruit.

More honeycrisp, once you taste them you will wish you had more. A ranier and black cherry would be fantastic as well.

Joshua Like your shop progress. Wrong screwgun for sheetrock hanging, it's like using a chisel to drive a screw! When you'll spackle, you'll know what I meant...besides, not enough screws! Hanging sheetrock with that winch is the right tool for it but as I saw what you're doing, totally wrong! There are videos for that, you should have watch a few before tempting to "rock" in the heights...not to mention, wrong scaffolding too, totally unsafe configuration, too much cantilever! Good luck...

+ronin4711 I have a sheetrock screw gun, but it was harder to use on that high scaffolding.
