Teacher as a profession in Canada is regulated so you will need to obtain a provincial teaching license after you have received your PR. That means you'll still need to study inland.

In my understanding, you need to be a Resident in order to get registered with Ontario College of Teachers, however, Nova Scotia teaching registration body can issue you a practicing certificate on Work Visa status too. The question is when you apply to public schools in Canada for teaching jobs you need to be a Resident or Work Visa will do??

Thank you for making such a comprehensive video. It must have taken a lot of time to gather information. Since, long i have been looking for such a video bec no one really makes videos for teachers and especially demand of school teachers. You have done a great job. Coming to the point i have a few questions if you could help me with. So i have a Bachelors degree in English, have done B.Ed. & currently have 2 yrs of teaching experience in Primary. I am exploring some options to relocate to Canada. But my scores are not meeting the expectations. As I am working I can not do a regular course & planning to do a distance Masters course i have 2 things in mind. ▪ Will it be a good idea to do masters from distance education either from my home country India/ Canada? ▪ Will doing a masters course boost me CRS scores and by how much points and if i do it as a regular course then I'll get a push of how many points? ▪ How much an Elementary teacher earns in Canada? 3 years doesn't have to be in one go. In the 5 years your PR will be valid, you'll be eligible for citizenship if you stay in Canada for at least 3 years, not necessarily at one time; it can be spread out over a period of 5 years. You can visit your home country as many times as you wish.

Good video and useful info. I am just confused about you stating that one cant apply for a teaching job on a work visa and must have a PR. That is not helpful to foreigners as they can get their PR only based on working or at least a job offer. Basically, your info is applicable only to Canadian citizens or PR holders.

Dear, I am a Govt. Teacher in Jammu and Kashmir in northern part of India since 1992. I was B.Sc. at that time and in India B.sc was of 2 years. What if I want to study just after that PR and for example I got the PR of Manitoba but I get admitted in university which is in other province. So I'm I able to study at other province or not? During your PNP process, you'll be made to sign an undertaking which will clearly explain the terms of your PNP nomination. These terms differ based on each province, and for each individual as well. Studying in another province is usually allowed if you can provide sufficient proof that you have enough ties to move back to the province which nominates you. I would not recommend this though, there are plenty of good Universities in Manitoba which you can get enrolled in.

Your reply will help me understand lot more about teaching in Canada 🙏 I'm a teacher in English I have a two year experience, I have completed diploma in English language and literature, TKT ( Cambridge assessment), TESOL 180 hours and pre school diploma. Pre school and elementary schools are my choice in teaching. 1.Can I migrate to Canada with a PR and work in a school while studying a BA or. B.Ed in Canada? Or at least teach in a private institution? 2.Usually how much does it cost to do a BA or a B.Ed in Canada? 3. Will there be any chances where we will be qualified to teach in a school or in an institute for sometime without a BA or B.Ed?

Hi there, Dream Canada. Thank you so much for your videos! They have been incredibly helpful. I'm a teacher and my husband is a teacher and is completing his Masters in school counselling- both fields of work seem to require a teaching licence in order to be employed in Education in Canada. We have 2 children so we do need job security before applying and immigrating to Canada. The teaching licence seems to take a minimum of 6 months to complete in Canada. So my question is, is there any way of making enough income to support a family while completing the teaching licence? Any advice or recommended links will be greatly appreciated. Scary to move an entire family without a job offer. Kind regards
