Nathan is such a great guy. Im blessed to call him my friend. I've been to his house before and he showed me the 184" west va buck... It's monsterous. Great episode Beau!!! Thank you for getting his story on here!

Exceptional buck! Your comment about being saddened by taking that buck from his home resonated with me as well as your no camera goal. I targeted a particular buck one time and had the same exact sadness as you did as soon as I killed him. That was the one and only time I have and will target and hunt a particular buck exclusively. I like the adventure of seeing a buck for the first time. Regardless, what beautiful animal you were rewarded with!

So many great points in this conversation. I’m impressed with Nathan’s attitude and the points he’s making even about the mixed emotions associated with talking a big one from his home and longing for the adventure part of deer hunting. These kinds of words tend to flow from the mouths of deer hunters that truly “get it”. Congratulations on a truly magnificent and well earned buck of a lifetime.

Great podcast! I could listen to this guy Nathan talk about scouting and habitat all day. He’s very informative. I would love to see trail cam videos of dreamcatcher as well as pictures or a better idea of the topography and habitat he is hunting, so I know what to look for when I am hunting public.

Congratulations, Nathan! I have enjoyed all of your interviews & I really appreciate the knowledge you've shared! It has changed my technique here in Western NC & I have been in the game a lot more often this year with much better quality deer 👍

What he said about taking deer from there home really hits home with me, that's why I try and hunt older deer cause there is something so special about these mountain monsters, there so few they become obsessive and majestic that taking there life is not a feeling you can explain, it's so bittersweet words don't express the respect they deserve and command! It's like hunting something you idolize, and you can get all the pictures you can want and all the time in the world to hunt them but there so hard to kill there almost impossible for most people to even hunt them, they usually get killed from people getting really lucky but to kill that specific deer is a testament to that mans skills as a woodsman!! Awesome episode, I hunt eastern KY and these deer are true ghost!!!

I love podcasts with Nathan i live on the border of VA in WV and have recently started hunting VA public land near me. I scouted during the summer and got into a very similar setup that nathan said he found this buck in and i rarely get pics of him in daylight too. Congrats on the kill good luck in the future.

I’m originally from the area Nathan killed the buck and still hunt there. Some areas are very remote and have no hunting pressure at all. A high percentage of bucks die from old age, natural causes. Like Nathan states it is extremely thick country in large areas.

Beau, it don't get any better after the ring is on the finger either..... but it's certainly all worth it. Love it. Steaks, tater tots and frozen vegetables.... what's wrong with that??? LOL!!

Beau, Nathan: Great video. I appreciate the details you focused on. Would you all be interested in sharing information like this with a reputable Virginia based bow hunting organization? We are always looking for outside resources to collaborate with.

I have 3 small hunting parcels in eastern KY and all 3 places have had really big deer on them this yr and I have been so stressed out, I got a shot at 1 all season and I grazed his neck, it would have been my biggest to date, but when he disappeared and I went and found 2 more even bigger but without having the acres to cover to go in and find these deer it's dang near impossible, they definitely don't move much in the daylight, I don't think I ever stressed this much in all my seasons combined and trying to figure out what spot to hunt on my very limited time to hunt is just another brain freeze, almost to much to handle sometimes
