Break the Wall is THAT song for me on this album. This song reminds me of Coheed and Cambria, early Paramore and early Evanescence. It's feeding the headbanger in me and I love it.

I'm so glad you mentioned Lacuna Coil and Breaking Benjamin! People are constantly talking about DC sounding like an anime intro, which I get, but it think it's because they don't necessarily listen to a lot of rock and alt rock, so they don't recognize some of the influences. This totally took me back to when I was OBSESSED with Breaking Benjamin's Blow Me Away, the version with Valora. (A band that I SO wish had actually gotten off the ground.) This might actually be my favorite Dreamcatcher song so far and that's SUPER saying something considering how much I love their entire discography.

Dreamcatcher's early stuff, as in most of the Nightmare Arc title tracks, is heavily influenced by j-rock, which is where the "Sound like an anime intro" comes from. J-rock is very common in anime intros, thus the comparison. Not to mention that a lot of people who discovered Asian entertainment (j-rock, kpop, kdramas etc) started by watching anime. For a lot of people, Anime was the gateway drug to Asian music. Since Piri they've been moving away from j-rock and they're shifting more and more to just a rock sound. As a result, they're starting to sound more and more like western artists like, as has been pointed out, Breaking Benjamins and Lacuna Coil.

when they sang very high notes their voices surpassed those of the megaphones, that's why we heard a lot of sua and siyeon, and the whole part of siyeon was so loud and loaded that the megaphone could not with it

This song, more than any other song they've done to date, deserves a live metal band if they ever perform it during their next concert tour. Can we talk about how perfect Sua and Yoohyeon's vocal tones are for this sound when they get to sing in that lower register like this? And Gahyeon getting the chance to belt that shit during the chorus?!? I had no idea she had that much vocal power. Absolutely brilliant.

Lacuna Coil was my first thought, too! 😁 My girl Siyeon's really giving Cri a run for her money... 😉 ...and what that megaphone does to Gahyeon's voice..? 😍 It almost physically hurts that Dongie's not with them, now of all times. I've said elsewhere, that much as I _desperately_ want them to get that first win, as we all do, part of me doesn't want them to get it _yet._ Because if they finally get it now? I'm sure there'll be floods of happy tears all round, but I know I for one would feel a little hollow for her not being there with them. I can't imagine how they, or _she,_ would feel about it... 😢 We've waited this long; if she really is set to come back soon, would another couple of months' wait be too much..? I dunno...
