I had the same initial reaction to Maison. The chorus really grew on me after a couple listens. Dami's rap and the bridge sold the song for me tho anyway.

Dami rap in Maison especially the whisper got me and acoustic guitar with Jui in bonvoyage is simply beautiful.

I found that there are quite a lot of their songs that grew on a listener with time. Like, none of them are bad or something even on the first listen, but for example Full Moon for me was "okay", and after a while it just clicked, I've heard something there and it is insanely good.

I was lukewarm on Maison initially and then suddenly it just GRABBED me. The bridge, the epic outro, superhero Sua all sold me. It’s now one of my favourites.

Yesss! Handong slayed that chorus in Odd Eye - love it when they give her the deep powerful lines!! Not sure if you'll react to it or not but the performance video for Odd Eye is amazing - Dreamcatcher is suits!! Plus cleaner choreo than the MV! Dami's part felt more like singing than rap to me and the instrumentals were more relaxed compared to the rest of the song which was so dramatic...

Same thoughts on Maison. It was my first come back, i liked the rap and the choir like end of the song, but the chorus didn’t hit me as much bc of the instrumentals. It did grow on me after a while

General reception to Maison was quite mixed at that time so you're not the only one. Fans were worried about DC progressively losing their rock sound. Then, Vision came out and they kinda won back those fans

Dreamcatcher Maison meaning: 'Maison' (French for 'home') serves as a fair warning against a not-so-distant apocalyptic future that awaits us if we continue to plague the Earth with apathetic overconsumption. The lyrics directly correlate to and resonate with a global sentiment of crisis evoked by the unfathomable dangers of climate change through the story of celestial saviors who take it upon themselves to revive the Earth when it is abandoned by the very people who call it home. Gaia transforms into the Grim Reaper as an emblem of the earthly wasteland and chaos reigns in Satan's form. The first verse opens with a sense of desolation and helplessness as the future of the world looks bleaker by the day. Not being able to breathe is a direct consequence of the overwhelming pollution in the air while also being a metaphor for Mother Earth being unable to sustain herself. DREAMCATCHER attempts to shake passive observers awake from their indifference ("Break your habit now") and move them to action before it is too late. With the human collective choosing ignorance over consciousness, there is little hope to hang on to. Global warming is just the tip of the iceberg and that too, is melting. However, DREAMCATCHER continues to present the Earth in its former glory in an effort to elicit change ("Turn back to the moment when every season is vivid"). After all, the moment you look away, everything will turn to dust ("Pretending not to know, you disappear too"). At the end of the day, it is us who must fight for the world, our maison.

"Maison" is part 1 of the Apocalypse trilogy. Dreamcatcher are touching on a very important subject here. Maison is French for "house" or rather "home", and they are singing about everyone's home, which is our planet. Previously they talked about online hate, now they are tackling an issue that impacts the whole planet and therefore everyone. Climate change is going to affect all of us, and it is already affecting many people. Island Nations will disappear under the ocean ("Save my home in the ocean"). Ice melts in the arctic and displaces people ("Save my home in the polar"). Forests get decimated by corporate greed and habitats get destroyed ("Save my home in the jungle") and disappearing glaciers and snow packs result in even less water for deserts ("Save my home in the desert"). People have a natural tendency to ignore issues that seem to be in the future - but climate change is here, right now. We can't wait anymore, and it is good that Dreamcatcher use their platform to promote change: "Break your habit now!" Musically I really enjoy the song. Like in BEcause, the rock/metal vibe is dialed back a bit, but it is still there and highly distorted. Although the more I listen to it, the more Rock I hear. I especially like how the pre-chorus and chorus seems to appear out of nowhere, the chord progression in the bridge, and the epic end part. The bass line is crazy as well. LEEZ and Ollounder (their producers) have done it again, and the members are just brilliant. Respect! Odd Eye is part 3 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. People can get lost in the world of the Internet and social media and their online personas can take over their life. Dreamcatcher want us to use our odd eye to see through the lies (on Facebook and others) and don't be fooled by the "lies masked in sweetness". I can only recommend to keep reacting to them, they are always interesting and entertaining! And the song is a banger! "You and I" is part 4 of the Nightmare arc. Here you can see the spider queen coming for Yoohyeon. She is the old woman that is being photographed - only to rob Yoohyeon's spirit. Also, earlier we see Dongie being pinned to the wall by needles, what is usually done to insects. For me, Yoohyeon's spirit is being pulled out here and thrown into the white dimension, which we will see again in Piri. The spider queen takes over her body, which is why we see JiU try to free Yoohyeon (without success) and grab her neck in the end.

Dreamcatcher ODD EYE meaning: The MV is about how the media (represented by the TV, phone, & computer) is showing us fake comfort (represented by a mask chair). It tells us how a new world of hope but is an altered reality of despair. Media shows us a lot of good things in life that makes us believe that there is a Utopia and this gives us hope. Even when we open our eyes, we see it as something good. According to the lyrics, it is a sorrow covered by light. It is a perfect illusion covering reality. They sing about using our Odd Eye, a secretly hidden eye that sees beyond illusion. Because with how sophisticated this world is right now, anything can be deceiving. A smile can be a plausible lie overshadowed by sweetness. Even hope itself may may lead us to despair in the end. We see Yoohyeon drink the cup of what she thought was wine but was actually poision. We see Gahyeon reach into the computer but ended up in flames. They give us fake hope but get hurt in the end when faced with the brutal reality of this cruel world. We are literally hurting ourselves like how Handong has her neck in her own hands. Let go of the remote (Siyeon) and stop looking for this fake Utopia (Jiu running away from the tree).In the last chorus it tells us to close our eyes. So that we can't be fooled by the world's fake light. So that at least we choose to be in darkness than to chase something that doesn't exist. Jiu has her eyes blindfolded with a bouquet in her hands for us to realize this. A Utopia is not something we must search for but is something we must make ourselves.

Odd eye is the last installment in a Trilogy. Scream, Boca, and Odd eye for the dystopia trilogy. Maison is part of the apocalypse trilogy Maison, Vision, BonVoyage. Justice (there upcoming comeback) is part of a duo Villians VS Virtuous OOTD, Justice. You & I is one of the endings to the Nightmare series which started with Chase me.

I think the flat chorus of Maison was there to build the tension for the bridge but definitely get what you mean.

"Odd eye" is for me the best song by Dreamcatcher. "You and I" was before my time - I only joined this group about 4 years ago, but I also really like their early works. Regarding “Maison”: I really had to force myself to stream this title as often as possible during the voting phase. I did it even though the song wasn't to my taste. Out of respect for the achievements of this unique K-pop group so far. In the end, "Maison" got their first win - of course not because of me - but it was extremely important for Dreamcatcher. I think they've loosened up since then. And the subsequent productions were more to my taste. All the best to Dreamcatcher for the upcoming Comeback on July 10, 2024. Of course I'll be there again.

Yoohyeon is my bias for a reason ❤ but then I love all 7 members My all-time favorite song of them will be You and I (I love ODD EYE,Boca too), but You and I hits different xD Siyeon and Yoohyeon are the Main Vocalists in Dreamcatcher, like Yoohyeon is close up to Siyeon (so both of them get some high moments, mostly Siyeon bcs all we know she's the Main Vocalist, second Yoohyeon)

Creo que soy de las pocas personas que realmente les gustó Maison desde la primer escucha, en serio amo esta canción. Y al escuchar únicamente el instrumental me di cuenta de lo cuidadosamente producida que está, este estilo tan particular sólo lo había escuchado en bandas japonesas. He visto que Maison, BOCA y OOTD son las canciones que más debate han generado dentro del fandom en cuanto al sonido.
