You are the robot vacuum champion along side vacuum wars channel. However, you go into a lot more details and review way more vacuums for different price point. Can you maybe revisit the older vacs from a year or two? As most still do a decent job at the reasonable price. Older flagship are typically on a deep discount and perform better than newer mid range vacuums. Older Flagships like dreame L20 ultra. I look forward to your new studio. Keep up the work.

I've noticed that the l40 ultra sold in europe is aesthetically different from the l40 ultra sold in the us (golden ridged lid instead of white lid). I was wondering if it's functionally different as well. What do you think?

Here in Malaysia at the moment only have L30S Ultra and also have gold ridged lid. The top colour of the lidar is white (L40 Ultra is silver).

I just got this unit yesterday. The docking of the robot is HORRENDOUS if you put the docking station on carpet! Right now, every time I try to dock the robot, it ultimately fails and I have to manually put it in the charging station. There are two problems: First, the robot moves WAY TOO SLOW during docking, and it hardly puts any force/speed into the process; consequently, when the robot is digging into the carpet, there isn't enough force to get the wheels off of the carpet and onto the ramp. The second issue is that the ramp has a very slight "lip" along the front- while this would hardly be noticeable if you are docking the unit on hardwood floors, when you are docking on carpet, this "lip" adds more height that the robot has to overcome. There are two solutions: First, you can put the docking station on 1/4" plywood and have the front of the plywood stick out at least 8 inches from the front of the ramp (I tried it with 5 inches sticking out and it wasn't enough for the robot to overcome the painfully slow/low force docking process). The second solution would require a simple firmware update from Dreame. They need to program the robot so that it puts more "force" and speed into the start of the docking process when the robot detects that it is on carpet. This will instantly solve the issue. I spoke with someone who explained to me that in China, carpet flooring is very rare, and this is why Dreame has probably not fixed the issue. But they are selling a very expensive unit to an American audience, and we deserve to have our voices heard and our concerns addressed.

Hi, I recently bought the Dreame L40 Ultra, and it has come to my attention that the dust bag in the base isn't reusable. Given that I have a dog that sheds a lot, the bag got full quickly. Do you have tips on how to reuse the same bag? Or perhaps know where I could find reusable dust bags? I saw that it's about 15 dollars for only 3 disposable Dreame bags on Amazon, so that can get expensive quite quickly... thanks in advance!

Just bought the L40 on amazon limted time deal, primarily due to your and VacuumWars reviews. I will be using it on Coretec LVP flooring, with a golden retriever in the house. Bought the tricut brush due to hair. Now looking at what kind of cleaner I should select. Coretec and many LVP floors recommend a ph neutral cleaner. Their own is called Encore, but amazon reviews for "OdoBan Professional Series Neutral pH No Rinse Floor Cleaner Concentrate, 1 Gallon" are great too. The later is significantly cheaper than Dreame's floor cleaning solution. Do you have any recommendations on 3rd party cleaning solutions? Maybe a good subject for a video?

I noticed that you have another Dreame standing alongside with the bunch of robots you have, one with a golden door. What model is that? I'm asking cause I just ordered the L40 Ultra, and it shows slightly golden accents on the door and the Lidar of the robot, but the main unit you are reviewing in this video is completely white, which left me a bit confused. (Okay, I think it's the older L10s Pro -- Sorry didn't watch the whole video, can't spare full 40 minutes. ;-))

I got the L40 but it doesn’t seem like it vacuums floors very well. Doesn’t pick up stuff my 5 year old roomba robot vacuum would pick it up easily. Am I missing a setting so it vacuums floors too?

@Justadad it is. I’ve removed the AI settings and now have suction power on max for each room. It does seem to be performing somewhat better. Much much quieter than expected. It’s totally throwing me off.

This prevents damage to your floors from cleaning liquids or potential hazards in homes with children and pets. Therefore, Dreame's cleaning solution is only intended for cleaning mops and cannot be put in the clean water tank. The cleaning solution in the base station is mixed with water when cleaning the mops to achieve a better cleaning result, in fact the cleaning solution still cleans the mops. If you go into carpet settings, and click ignore, it will spin the brush on carpet. But just remember to switch it back if you use clean genius 🤣 so it won’t mop carpets
