Can I have a projector offset since I have a beam in the center and I want to have a drop down from the ceiling. So I guess it would have to be upset like by foot and a half off center.

Yes with this projector you can use lens shift if you need to install it off center. We prefer not to do that but have done it with no issues. Thanks for watching!

You just talked about the 1st step. How do you ensure it's in the centre? Not too high not too low not too to the right etc?

Get the yaw position right first in my experience. The other two degrees of freedom are easy enough.

I suggest the following. First, get the yaw position right. Make a rectangle in the middle of the screen with the test patten, and move the projector left to right until you have good right angles on the rectangle patten. It doesn't hurt to move the patten to the top and bottom bevels as they can be your straight edges. Once the yaw position is sorted its a case of level the lens side of the projector and then the left and right sides. This is how i got a perfectly square image with no keystone....note the bevel of your screen better be straight 😂

These are great videos but they kind of assume your projector costs at least $5k. "Buy this $360 adjustable ceiling mount and this $5k projector and you can mount it anywhere and use its astronomical lens shift to fix everything". I get the old "you get what you pay for" adage and it's true. But some of us who aren't independently wealthy would also like to enjoy projection and be able to align it - even if there's some difficulty involved.
