Obviously Curtis missed the hint in Effie's song otherwise he wouldn't be so shocked to see his daughter. In "And I am telling you" when she said "We share the same blood..." she was basically telling him she was pregnant.
@veronicageorge3825 Жыл бұрын
She also kept looking down on her stomach, but personally, I think Curtis would've just used the pregnancy to kick her out faster.

When this movie came out I was worried it wouldn't hold true to the Broadway production, which was spectacular in its day. The movie was perfectly casted and exceptionally well done. I saw it... the first time... with my brother and his wife. When the entire theatre erupted in applause, before this song ended, I glanced at him and got that "don't even think about it" look, still clapping I jumped up, "You go girl, you go Effie!". I'm changing an underrated song, dropped my first tear and I was balling when I saw Effie's daughter crying.

Eh, I’d rather if they make another one that they just keep it focused on Effie, Deena, Lorell, and Michelle. I hate sequels focused on the children of the main characters from the previous movie, plus a sequel would never happen. Dreamgirls have songs that are cemented in broadway and blck culture. The soundtrack would never hit the same.
