It's a been 3 weeks since my last running video and I explain why I've been temporarily quiet on the running front for a while.
Thanks so much for watching, subscribing, liking, commenting and sharing.
I'm Andy Clayton and in 2018 I did Couch To 5K and instantly discovered a love for running that I never knew existed. Prior to that, I'd always though that running looked like hard work and no fun at all. How wrong I was! Since discovering that there is a huge amount of enjoyment to be had when running I'm on a one man crusade to tell everyone that you can do it too! Were you told by your school physical "education" "teachers" that you were no good? Or did they just ignore you and talk to the sporty kids? That's what happened to me, and so I thought I was useless. I didn't think I'd ever be any good at anything even remotely sporty. But you really CAN do it! Couch To 5K is just the start, and once you crack that challenge there's lots more out there for you to enjoy.
Join me on my journey as I find out new things about running, enjoy trying different challenges that anyone can have a go at and also, occasionally, throw in a bit of utter silliness just for good measure.
There's a thriving community on this channel who regularly post very helpful tips and ideas in the comments. Join in! You won't regret it! 😀

Sorry to hear that. So much of it about! Good luck with your first run back. My next running video (coming 26 Feb) may have more positive running news in it... 😉

I think that our bodies (and mind) sometimes subconsciously tell us when we need to slow down and recover. I'm pretty sure that you'll soon be back running once you've given yourself time to recover from recent upsets! My wife and I just booked for two weeks on Camino (Spain) in late May so plenty walking on the cards as preparation! Hope you're back to full health soon.

Hope you get the chance to run again soon. It won’t take long to get back to where you were at all. Keep up the good work on videos, I love this kind of vlog, aimed at normal average runners.

It's always good to hear from you, Andy. I hope you're feeling better and the various issues are settling down. You're right, you'll get back into the swing of it quickly enough, and keeping up the walking helps a lot in the meantime. All the best!

You're so right about walking. Getting out there with the hound every day definitely helps. Spoiler alert - my running vlog coming on 26 Feb may actually feature some running!! 😉😁🏃🏻‍♂️

Thanks Dan. I get out every day for a walk with the dog and I'm sure that helps to keep some level of fitness in there. Feeling much better now, so running is back on the cards!!

I know this feeling all too well after ending 2022 with back to back cold and flu. I found one upside to the long break tho being that the rest from running actually got rid of some aches and niggles I had in my bones/ligaments so it´s not all doom and gloom 😊!

That's good to hear - a silver lining! I'm sorry you suffered so many cold-y flu-y bugs. Such a lot of it about.

I used to just wait until a toe popped out of one of the running shoes and sounds like a joke but it isn’t though one good thing about long term sickness is I have had the same running shoes for 3 years and still look as good as new because the most exercise they have had is around wards in hospitals 😁

Oh dear, that's perhaps not the way you'd want to keep a pair of runners going for so long. I really haven't got anything to complain about and should get a grip!! 😬

@Rambly Not at all we all have our own crosses to bear and I am extremely lucky my problem was identified after a run and it was more luck than anything else. On the plus side I had to build up from walking upstairs, before struggling with breath, seriously, up to 3 miles which is where I am at now. I did cover an 8 mile walk at one point but then had to go back into hospital again which set me back but that’s all over with now so I can concentrate on getting better. Nothing wrong with Rambly Walking and it has been very helpful for me as an alternative to running Keep up the channel but if you walking why not get an OS map and plot a small route around some fields as much nicer than walking on the road 😁

Can you get out early? That's what I do. Week 6 in the bag. Why do you always put yourself down? Be kind to yourself. You'll thank yourself for it. 😉

You're so right. I should be more positive - that's my "usual place" tbh so it's unusual for me to be like this. It's just been an unusual period of time! I'll be talking more about this and why I didn't run early in my next running vlog on 26 Feb!

@The Rambly Channel I've noticed you are very hard on yourself in a lot of your videos. I have a bad back & have been advised against running for a while, which has mucked up my C25k in week 7. Apparently it's a disc problem.
