Three Runs For The Price Of One

It's been a few weeks since my last running vlog, so in this one there are no fewer than three, yes THREE runs. I talk about where I am with my running as 2023 draws to a close and also a little bit about the content coming up on the channel.

I'm Andy Clayton and in 2018 I did Couch To 5K and instantly discovered a love for running that I never knew existed. Prior to that, I'd always though that running looked like hard work and no fun at all. How wrong I was! Since discovering that there is a huge amount of enjoyment to be had when running I'm on a one man crusade to tell everyone that you can do it too! Were you told by your school physical "education" "teachers" that you were no good? Or did they just ignore you and talk to the sporty kids? That's what happened to me, and so I thought I was useless. I didn't think I'd ever be any good at anything even remotely sporty. But you really CAN do it! Couch To 5K is just the start, and once you crack that challenge there's lots more out there for you to enjoy.
Join me on my journey as I find out new things about running, enjoy trying different challenges that anyone can have a go at and also, occasionally, throw in a bit of utter silliness just for good measure.

Good for you! I was a late starter with my running but have so enjoyed it. There have been ups and downs along the way, but it's such a positive thing to do. I wish you well with yours! Interesting that you're in the EV industry. I still consider myself a newcomer to that too. I have another EV video coming up next, hopefully in a few days time 😊

Thank you for your comment. I'm so pleased you enjoyed the running videos. Yes! I'm still running (I was out yesterday morning and will be out again tomorrow afternoon). The reason I haven't made any content recently is because I have nothing new to say - I feel like I'd be churning out the same content. However, I have some plans and if they come to fruition then that will generate a load more running video content so please stay subscribed and watch this space!

I just re-finished c25k 5 1/2 months post surgery for early breast cancer. I used to watch your videos last year, 1st time round, but they rarely pop up in my feed now. KZbin doesn't like the fact that you post about different things. I think it would be better to havve a seperate runing channel.

That's interesting feedback. I did consider doing that at one stage, however the big problem is it takes small channels like mine years to build up the necessary number of followers and views to qualify for ads and we need those ads to pay just a fraction of the costs associated with making the content. So if I spin out to a new channel I'll have to start from scratch again. It's chicken and egg. You're correct, but I can't see how to achieve what I need in a reasonable timeframe. I'm so pleased to hear you've re-finished C25K. I remember your feedback when you were unable to run and really felt for you at that time so I'm delighted to hear your back out there again. Good for you!

10k wow you have come a long way since the couch to 5k days. When it was more about running for 30 minutes, rather than hitting 5k in 30 minutes. Looking at your time. You must be able to hit 5k in 30 minutes now? I Just did 20 minutes yesterday, l was not looking forward to it, I watched your video and thought, yes trust in plan as you said. After 3 minutes I thought I am not going to make this and it was hard going, after 13 minutes I thought yes you wilk make it.

It's amazing how much your feelings can change during a run. Initially it can be hard! Good for you for sticking with it. Sometimes it'll just be one of those days, but often just sticking with it you can ride the storm! I love 10K as a distance, but if you haven't seen them I also have a playlist about a half marathon or two...
