Try out some authentic Mexican burritos with Michelle and learn how they are made.
At Dreaming Spanish, you will learn Spanish the way you learned your native language, namely, through immersion. Simply start watching content at a level that is comprehensible to you, and gradually work your way towards more and more advanced videos.
As researchers like Dr. Stephen Krashen have shown over the past 40+ years, receiving comprehensible input, that is, messages that you can understand in the target language, is what actually results in language acquisition.
By listening to our stories, cultural expositions, conversations and games, you will get used to real Spanish as it's used in context, and develop a native-like intuition for the grammar and the vocabulary, together with a clear pronunciation.
Experience the language. Become the language.

Nice video. Felt like a high A2 or low B1. These are really helpful as a bridge into intermediate. Thanks for all the thought and hard work that went into this one. Looking forward to more from Michele!

This entire series is fantastic! There is so much new to me vocabulary being introduced. With Michelle's professional approach with engaging staff and clearly explaining the scene with context, the stories are easy to follow. Comparing the food she is eating with Taco Bell reminded me of a visit from a relative who lived in the Texas valley. She wanted to try Taco Bell and we resisted. Eventually she had her meal which she enjoyed, but only because it was so different from the traditional food she ate everyday. Vive la différence! :)

In Milwaukee there’s a significant Hispanic community which is primarily, although certainly not exclusively, of Mexican and Puerto Rican origin. Finding authentic Mexican, particularly Norteño, cuisine is no challenge whatsoever. Of course the chain restaurants exist, but we’re fortunate to have restaurants, food trucks, small grocers, and even supermarkets that are owned by Mexican and other immigrants, and cater to those cuisines. Of course I’m not going to say that every dish is prepared exactly as it had been in Mexico or any other country. There are restaurants with chefs who are creating amazing fusion as well. Of course when visiting a foreign country one should try the cuisine unique to that country, but even Mexican cuisine carries the contributions of the indigenous peoples and the Europeans who settled there.😋

I didn't even think that burritos would be made without rice. I like the fuller burritos because I'm fat but those did look banging though! I'll have to try that if I'm ever in the north of Mexico.

Rice just takes up the space meant for meat :D In my mind the filling should be all meat and maybe some greens for freshness like they do with the Turkish cousin of the burrito, the durum.

Recomendaría "El Cholo" a cualquier persona que busca comida mexicana en Los angeles. Pero es un restaurante, no un puesto, asi que que la comida es un poco más cara. La comida mas mexicana es muy diferente de la que normalmente se come

I grew up in the Mission District of SF, and of course, we have our famous local version of the burrito. The Mission-style burrito is to us what NY-style pizza is to New Yorkers. It's definitely different from the original Mexican burrito (just like NY pizza isn't the same as the original Neapolitan pizza), but it's really really good. It was created by local Mexican taquería owners and has always been made by Mexicans and Mexican-Americans, unlike Chipotle and Taco Bell. By the way, I totally agree, both Taco Bell and Chipotle are straight-up disgusting. That crap doesn't even come anywhere close to what I'm used to, not by a long shot!

Very dramatic and rude response. I googled burritos Durango Mexico, scrolled through the restaurants, and found the place. With everything she showed it wasn’t that hard. It’s called Burromx in Durango. I agree it would have been nice to make that clear in the video, but it could have been a simple oversight.
