As a middle aged Mexican American who grew up poor in what was essentially the ghetto, one of the most beautiful things about music is to hear the beautiful melodies of all the different cultures from around the world. What else besides music could someone like me and where I grew up have such a beautiful experience with another person’s culture? There’s something beautifully primitive about listening to the faint sound of ancestors, and some artists are really good at channeling their ancestors, the cranberries was one of those bands. Gorgeous melodies, and Delores had such a beautiful accent to compliment those melodies.

What's incredible to me is there is like zero reverb on her voice and she's still dominating. That's so hard to hit those notes even with a little extra umph coming from the reverb and she's just like "nah I'm good." RIP Delores!

The Cranberries were so great. They had a good mix of styles. First was "Linger." Everyone thought they were a softie, pop band. Then, "Dreams", which was more of a dance tune. That changed things up and people didn't think they were a specific genre. Then, "Zombie", which was more of a rock tune, which surprised everyone. They went from the poppy "Linger", to the hard-sounding and lyrics meaning, "Zombie." After that, it was all heaven for the Cranberries fans, like myself. Such a classic band. R.I.P. lovely Dolores.
