Wow, love this cover. The lead and backing vocals are great. However, we must clarify that this is not the original Blackberries who were a 70s Motown group. Not sure how this group got the rights to the name "the Blackberries", but I do love their music. Anyone know the answer?

I'm an IP solicitor. It's quite easy actually. To start "the Blackberries" was never trademarked. Further, 'blackberries' are an actual fruit - not a idiosyncratic word pulled from the air. There are many products and items that are referred to or named "blackberries" including the mobile phone company. Lastly, with regard a potential action of passing off, no one would confuse a 2020s Singaporean rock band with a 70s Motown group, so there is no misrepresentation here.
