My niece was an organ donor... she was 21 yrs old, was in a snowmobile accident and was declared brain dead, her heart and kidneys were donated.. no one wanted her lungs because they were bruised...we met the young man that got her heart... he is married with a child now...this was in 2008.

Thank God for people you and your daughter, I made the same decision for my brother who died of a brain aneurysm two months ago. I will never get over his death and I still cry every day. The only thing that gives me any kind of comfort is knowing that he was able to save the lives of five people. I am so sorry for your loss hun. I don't know how it feels to lose a child, but I can only imagine the pain and the heart ache. God bless.

In 2001 at the age of 51 I received the gift of life from a family and their very much loved family member. I had a liver transplant at The Nazzi Zudi Transplant Center in OKC. Ok. In four months I will be 72 because of their unselfish gift. Back then they didn't have honor walks. I wish they had. The gratitude I felt then and now...no words can express.

Beautifully said Carol Hammond. For your donor’s loved ones, whether they know of you or not, your life was changed, as theirs were as well. Organ donation, in my eyes, has to be one of the greatest gifts anyone can give. The son of very good friends was born with cystic fibrosis… the only "cure" was then & now is organ donation. When he was diagnosed his parents were told that he would be lucky to live to see his 20’s. He received a bilateral lung transplant several years ago & thankfully this young man is alive in his 30’s, married & living the life that he & his parents never believed he would. Rest In Peace Dreamy, you’ve earned your angel wings ❤️

Our son died in a freak car accident, he wanted to be an organ donor but they were unable to revive him at the scene. It breaks my heart knowing that that one wish of his wasn’t able to happen, I feel it would have given some meaning to his death. It’s so very difficult loosing a child, 17 years later I miss him even more. Knowing his heart or other organs could have saved the lives of others really hit hard, it would have been so wonderful to know his beautiful heart was beating keeping someone else alive. Organ donors are so special and I personally don’t understand how family members can stop the organ donation when you know that was their dying wish. Be at peace Dreamy 🙏🏻❤️💔🕊

That's the exact reason they show you this kind of videos. But you better learn the question of organ transplantation more deeply. It's not good on so many levels. (Like, there's organs traffic, people are killed for their organs, in some hospitals the donators will be killed by doctors cause they have financial interest and so on; and the person who recieves an organ continues her life on meds, always. immunosuppressors). Keep your organs for yourself. I'll do a paper were I officially forbid to use my organs in case.

The roses made it a beautiful touch, much like when the coffin ⚰️ rolls by you place a rose 🌹 to say your goodbyes 😢. Then you see her organs fly into the sky knowing there is someone whose gonna receive them so they can live. It’s quite a connection to have between the person’s family and the recipient. It’s like their family member is still alive here on earth. In a way it seems that her spirit lives in them.

I live in another country, and we don't do this to donors. It all happens quietly, and in a breeze, because time counts. I have watched both sides of a transplant. First, when my partner's cousin died, and it was heartbreaking. Then, my mom has a kidney transplant, and it's so incredible the mix of feelings, watching your loved one with a new opportunity to live, incredible to witness that miracle, and, at the same time that you are so moved watching the organ quick and alive, you are thinking that a family are so torn and heartbrokrn, grieving and trying to come to terms with the fact that they are not going to see the donor any longer. I will never be able to thank enough that family. In my heart, still almost three years after the donation, I give him/her my personal, inner tribute.
