This guy looks like he’s 50 years old. Crazy! Fillmore slim a legend! A real pimp not a gorilla pimp. I love this podcast! You are doing a great service to the people who have followed the bay music since the 90’s. Much love! Fillmore Legend!

Genuinely a good person. A lot of people pick up on the PIMP aspect, but fail to realize the true character of his nature. The industry needed him and Don Juan, they gave they stamp on numerous artist.

You know, I love this interview because this was an OG talking to a youngster- you did a beautiful job of respecting him and letting him tell his story and keeping the interview going. It was like listening to an uncle:) Thank you for collecting these stories of Fillmore Slim’s life. He is SF History.

@@Solosoulja Some states have laws that allow the heirs of a deceased celebrity to control the commercial use of their name, image, and likeness, meaning filmmakers may need to obtain permission to depict them in a movie. While it is not always legally required to pay a deceased person's family when making a movie about them, depending on the jurisdiction and the specific details of the person's life and estate, filmmakers often choose to seek permission from the family and may need to compensate them for the use of their likeness and life story, especially if the "right of publicity" laws in their state apply to deceased individuals; this is done to avoid potential lawsuits and maintain positive public perception. - Google Al overview 😂

A couple of things. I commend Slim for acknowledging the bullshit of American Pimp. Young fellas want to overlook the fact that the woman gave Goldy not nary one dime when she "chose" him. Technically she hadn't fulfilled her end and her man would have been in his rights to peel that skull and Goldy would not have had a leg to stand on. When asked about Player's Ball Slim said they started in New York CIty yet he failed to name the year. I was on the east coast from 1971-1995 and never heard of a ball being given. Mind you I was in DC, AC, NYC, Boston, Baltimore, Toronto and beyond and never heard of a ball being given. All that Mack of the Year is bullshit with trophies and what not. If you pay any attention to them, you never heard of anyone from the Right (east) coast winning and NYC was the top spot for players to come to back in the day. Some of those Balls were even giving out Lady Mack of the year even though there is no such thing. If you squat to pee, you cannot be no real live one.
