From what you've said I might even have the combination of leaky gut? Please would you also provide an exact package of foods that I need to stick to? No dieticians, medical doctors in the medical fields are looking at these issues as one holistic problem. I remember those days when I would be hungry every couple hours. I ate hundreds and hundreds of carbohydrates and sugar. That was just 20 months ago. Practicing keto and intermittent fasting now has changed me completely. I now wear 32 inch pants, never have trouble sleeping at night, never hungry or drained of energy. I do not take a pill or medication of any kind. It is the biggest change in my life that has ever happened.

Thank you for teaching us! Around the time I hit perimenopause is when I realized I needed to say goodbye to sugar. I am now 55, and I do not have belly fat! I focus on protein, fat, and fiber at every meal, and I exercise. My weight stays where I want it. My stress level remains stable. I do not feel tired during the day. Once the sugar was completely eliminated from my diet, the cravings for it stopped. ❤

Keep doing it! Last year on August 10th I decided to give a try to the carnivore. I planned to stay on it for 90 days. After 60 days I knew I will not stop at 90. I’m now approaching 1 year. I can’t even imagine going back to eating plants. However, I still consume coffee and tea. I’m 56 years old. I have reading glasses for about 10 years already. Couple of days ago I tried to read the book without them and I COULD! I expected other health issues to go away, but this took me by surprise. I still have a long way to go in improving my health. What I can say, don’t expect anything in particular. You will become healthier 100%. The response of your organism will be the biggest joy of your life! Just enjoy! I understand, at two weeks it’s not an enjoyment. You need more time to get comfortable. I felt that after around 60 days. Now, I can say that my eating habits or purpose if eating has changed totally. When I’n eating, I’m not looking for any combination of different tastes in food, but I’m waiting that that pleasant feeling of satiety which is coming with every bite of beef, fried eggs and butter. I have no idea how I can be bored of that feeling!😊

@@viktororlov566 thank you for the insight. I’m 59 years old. My hip is worn out. The doctors want to replace it. All the cartilage is gone and I am attempting to rebuild it with the carnivore diet. It seems like it’s working. The pain is not getting worse. I also have about 100 pounds to lose swelling in my right leg and foot that starting to go away also I had a numbness between my big toe and second toe on my right foot due to my back vertebrae being compressed that’s getting better. Also with the weight loss it’s coming off quick. I have some dark chocolate and asparagus once in a while, but I can’t give up my coffee or my tea either lol

I will be saving this video to watch as a regular reminder. The past few years, I've been experiencing high stress at my job and steadily gaining weight. I knew I was eating more junk food than I should, but I just couldn't seem to stop myself. It sure is a vicious cycle.... stress => carbs => more stress => more carbs. I love to exercise and thankfully have kept up with my morning workouts (walking or low impact cardio - helps to energize me). As much as I used to love lifting, I've lost the motivation to get back into a regular strength training routine. I am starting your recommendations today - especially the breathing and meditation. I love sugar so much. I gave up sugar about 6 months ago but I still crave jt. The true sign of an addiction. Particularly soda because I love the burn. Since I’ve overhauled my diet I’ve gone from 280 lbs to 228 lbs in about 10 months. The secret has been to keep my blood sugar from spiking eating mostly meat and limited non-starchy vegetables and only eating one meal a day. I can’t believe how much better I feel and how my inflammation has disappeared. Thank you for all your advice. It has really helped me stay motivated!

I should have kept reading! 😂 I just left you a message in reply to another comment you made. Sounds like you might be on it already, but maybe there's something there... I had to cut the fuzzy, burn-y, carbonated drinks completely. I was a Coke addict for years - Coca Cola, that is! I had to find a substitute and for me that's iced tea. I always liked it unsweetened, but found I now like it very lightly sweetened. I add 6 drops of stevia glycerite to a half gallon pitcher and it cuts the tannin taste without making it sweet. I had a real issue with stevia and couldn't tolerate it and was following someone who uses it frequently. She said it was different, so I took a leap of faith and bought some and it doesn't bother me at all and has none of that aftertaste, either. You might want to give it a try. That's really the only way I use it. She used it, just a very few drops, in conjunction with other sweeteners to get a more natural flavor. I'm content with Swerve or Lakanto so I haven't bothered to try.

Wonderful video, thank you! I eat a low carb, mostly 90% carnivore diet for the last 2 years. It has helped me lose weight, stop migraines and deal with stress or getting sick much better. I find it easier to stay on a carnivore diet rather than any other because you know exactly what you’re eating, no decision fatigue.

I needed to hear this again. It's so easy to lose sight of "why" I'm trying to eat better and snack less and reduce stress in my life. The world around us is constantly showing us something to shove in our mouth holes to make us feel better or "reward" ourselves. We also face frustration and stress inducing situations almost hourly so we really do want to make it stop and "reward" ourselves with a sugary donut or chocolate or a small bag of chips. It's such an insidious cycle though because of everything Dr. EKBERG just laid out. We give in to our cravings and then the cravings just get stronger as our bodies get weaker and sicker. But all while we are smiling and socializing and working and living our "normal" lives. It really takes some kind of health emergency or life event to wake us up to the reality of what is happening to us. Again big thanks Dr. Ekberg. You got me started on this better path 3 years ago!❤

Good that you are waking up to better understanding and taking control of your health. I find that the one thing most do not talk about for relieving stress and craving these poison goods is to TURN OFF THE TV. Stop watching the games tricking you to eat more and more poison food, while emptying your pockets into their, filling theirs. As long as those fake news main stream media and Ads psychologically put you into a trance of mass mind control. Instead, drink lots more "pure mineral water" , go out for a walk in the park, enjoy pets, nature, exercise in the form of walking, riding, swimming whatever you can do is the most healing. Just be sure to include deep breathing while meditation speeds up your ability to control your own mind instead of others doing so driving you into fear, stress, craving "comfort foods" which should be renamed "poisoned mind control" . Try this as often as you can to start and as you feel better increase. You will feel amazing and be happier with your life. Blessings to you.

I can control what I eat, I can make conscious decisions about the food I consume but sometimes I feel I cannot control the world around me. Dr. please don't forget to discuss the role of hormones in metabolism and weight gain, as I am experiencing this firsthand. Since entering the premenopausal phase, my metabolism has slowed drastically. None of the strategies you mention in your video have worked for me, not even fasting. Despite following various diets, I continue to gain weight. A few years ago, simply eliminating bread, pasta, and rice would result in a 5-pound weight loss each week. Now, even with dietary restrictions, intermittent fasting, and long walks, I struggle to lose a single pound. In my case, hormonal imbalances are the primary cause of weight gain. One solution or diet does not fit all. People dealing with weight gain, especially those facing different ages, genders, and hormonal issues, need customized diets, fasting plans, and hormonal therapy. When metabolism is significantly hindered by hormonal imbalances, losing weight becomes nearly impossible, regardless of physical activity. Even if long walks yield some weight loss, the weight quickly returns once the main issue-hormonal imbalance-isn't addressed.

Thanks for a great video. I believe getting good sleep is key to reducing stress in the body, and maintaining a consistent sleep schedule is crucial. This seems to be the one thing missing for many young people who stay up late-they're hitting the gym and doing everything else right, but without proper sleep, they're not fully taking care of their health.

@@drekberg Dr ekberg, thank you for your efforts, can you please make a video about, very low blood pressure, 70 sys, I'm on keto, people always talk about hypertension but they neglect the low blood pressure ... actually last week, i went for a swim, then i trained for about 30min very hard, then i was about to faint, i was shaking really hard, couldn't stand up .. people told me, I may have diabetes or heart problem, but i'm on keto for long time, i don't consume any sugars or fruits, no bread, no rice, no pasta no oatmeal no carbohydrates rich foods ... but why do i have that very low blood pressure while i consume salt enough, and aslo i got like migraines recently after that day of swimming things become more worse ..

Another very enjoyable video to watch. I’m a 51 yr old male with celiac disease. Ive been using the gym for over 30 yrs and eat relatively healthy but chocolate is my demon. This is mainly due to the lack of tasty gluten free foods but having watched this video, I’m going to make a conscious effort to reduce the amount of chocolate I eat. I’m fit and is use the gym regularly, never eat fast food but due to the amount of sugar in my diet things need to change. Thank you for making such an interesting video🙏

It's a work in progress. I am currently cutting back on artificial/chemical/high-pesticide ingredients first and then start cutting back on highly processed carbs/oils. Natural sweeteners (cane sugar, honey, maple syrup) will be culled back slowly after I see how my body feels after lowering the chemical/carby item consumptions. My weight has always been stable, but my energy levels varies. There will always seem to be an energy crash in the middle part of the day, but I have been able to handle my stress/focus a lot better than before during tough situations at work.

Thanks to Dr. Ekberg I have changed my lifestyle. In the two weeks since I have started I have already lost 10 pounds and am feeling much better. I workout 6 days a week ( which I have been doing before I changed my eating) and I am even seeing a difference in my performance of the workout. I go back to see my Dr in February. I had an adenoma right where the small intestine met the large intestine. I'll bet I had....aybe still have SIBO...I was highly stressed and eating tons of fast foods. Forty percent of my colon was removed. NO longer addicted to fast food, but 68 y/o, post menopausal, and still obese. This info is helpful.

Re: Stress, after 2+ decades working in human behavior, I believe most stress is rooted primarily in our relationships (i.e. emotional connection) with other people (even if a few degrees of separation like the CEO of your organization) or meeting basic physical needs such as food and shelter which humans now rely on money to obtain. 75% of people quit their job because of their boss and it's not because the boss is overweight or didn't take enough steps that day. It's because of their relationship and likely not feeling heard, understood, or valued by boss/management.

“Hungrier”happened to me the year before I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes. I would eat and eat and not feel full. Now, as a carnivore, I finally am not thinking about food all the time. What a relief!! (And my glucose this morning was 89. 😊)

Holy guacamole Doc! This is your most profound video yet. Loaded with relavent info that completely hits home with my fat 59 year old self. I recently started a keto diet that is actually almost 100% carnivore out of convenience. I haven't even looked at sugar or anything made with wheat flour. In the past two weeks I have reduced, maybe eliminated my inflammation and my swelling is gone. My mood has improved and my sleep is better the last few days. I have lost a lot of weight (I'm sure it was mostly water at first) and my motivation for physical activities has just come back. Now I know more about my gut biome and maybe can also improve that which might help my plaque psoriasis. It might be all in my head, but it seems like the production of scales on my skin has already slowed down. The knowledge I just soaked up from your video confirms that I am on the right track and that is motivating in itself. I just bought a bicycle and I'm gonna go get on it right now!

I can say being in both camps, when at my worst with food addiction i can eat above 5.000 carbs daily of junk, and despite eating so much never getting truly satisfied. but within an healthy diet i feel satisfied within 1.000-2.000 carbs of junk (i will sometimes eat outside of the diet with friends, or on my birthday). On top of that i can feel that my body really does not like the junk anymore when longer on the diet. But if i keep forcing junk, it is easy for me to fall back in eating unhealthy

I am really sensitive to stress, and it is really hard for me to make it go away. And when stressed it is very easy to get overwhelmed and start eating bad, and fall into an cycle. Because unhealthy diet gives only more stress

When you constantly have sugar spikes the ability to utilize it in an emergency or useful manner can sometimes be hindered as well. So the flight or flight response loses the edge which can be catastrophic in certain situations.

Excellent point about the freak of nature. Many folks continue to smoke because they see somebody deep into their 80s smoking. That 80 something is the exception, not the rule.

I have a colleague who puts sugar literally to everything. I have never seen him drinking tea without sugar. On top of that he eats almost every hour or two. But he is perfectly thin. I know he may be and probably is insulin resistant even though he's not overweight or obese, but still he looks great considering he eats tons of sugar and high-processed foods. I don't eat sugar at all and am still slightly overweight. I reduced my weight significantly in the past but at one moment it stoped and I've kept my weight ever since.
