Had one if those for some years. A Sharp. Not a good experience for many reasons. Havent used it for about 10 or more years. Wish you a better outcome

I'm curious if Dreo sent this free of charge for a review. That one tube airflow design is going to hurt its efficiency, with the condenser pulling cooled air from the room, heating it up and throwing it outside. The case design (what looks like a second drain plug on the bottom of the rear panel) suggests that maybe they thought about offering a heat pump (or one of the 10,000 names the same basic thing is probably sold under has a heat pump mode).

that plug is there so you can connect a drain hose, because in humid environments, it cannot evaporate enough on the condenser to keep from overflowing indoors. window shakers have pooled the indoor evaporator condensate in the outside at condenser coil and had the fan splash it up on the coil for many years. it helps the heat transfer slightly.

@@throttlebottle5906 I thought that was the purpose of the upper drain hose connection, rather than the lower one. Maybe I've missed something... I have seen window units where the hot gas line was also run in a small loop or "zigzag" in the drain pan area (same as some residential and commercial refrigeration systems) in addition to the water splashing arrangement.

Thats a lot of cooling power in a tiny box. Some people here will deride it for being cheap, but air conditioning is nice even for poor people.

yeah, nothing like sucking out the cooled room air to heat and them dump it outside, sucking more warm and humid air back into the space via every hole.

Even dual hose portable AC units rated at for example 14000 BTU don't mean you are getting 14000 BTU. Portable AC units are the most uneficient AC systems in the market regardless of them being single or dual hose. The advertised BTU on both systems is always a lie.
