the horse has probably given signs in the past that he doesn't like bits mate, considering they're pretty fucking painful. You can control a horse just as well with a bitless bridle rather than one with bits.

I’m not saying bitless bridles aren’t good I think they are a great tool for certain horses (hell I’ve used it on one of my personal horses and I ride bridleless all the time!) and no they aren’t painful when used correctly and effectively. That’s not true because I know plenty of horses that are extremely well behaved and trained horses when being ridden in a bit but would take advantage of you if bitless (not saying they couldn’t be trained into a bitless bridle) but you still don’t have the same amount of contact. They’re are plenty of studies that show that bitless riding can be just as harmful as riding with a bit. I believe that unless there is REAL abuse going on or your their trainer it’s none of anyone’s business to tell a rider what they should or shouldn’t do with their horses.

The bridle strap that goes around the horses mouth is disgusting. Horses open their mouths to relieve the pain of the bit. But the strap keeps it's mouth shut.

Katie The Dog HD Nope most the time they are opening their mouth to avoid having to listen to the bit, it gives the rider more control which I’m pretty sure you’d want with a half a ton animal :| sometimes they open it because they have bad teeth but responsible owners (which Matt is) will get their horses teeth checked to make sure everything is okay

If their teeth is so bad please explain why is a 4 year young horse is opening their mouth when the bit is too tight? Because their teeth is bad?! Don't come up with that bullshit. You have no idea how to ride a horse if you can't ride one without a bit. The bit is supposed to be guide device but in reality it is a painful control device. Use a traditional hackamore. If a horse has bad teeth then why doesn't it pin its ears and move their tail when they are eating a carrot? All these ignorant people saying "my horse loves the bit!" "My horse loves jumping!". Yeah sure. Then tell me why a horse bucks, pins his ears bobbing its head and making its tail move while you yank on the bit? "Because its teeth are bad". Sure.

TheScarlet1999 Oh my god chill out? Do you even know anything about horses? Clearly not the way you’re speaking, please educate yourself before trying to force your opinion on everyone. And if someone is a knowledgeable and responsible rider then they won’t be yanking the bit, yes some people do and that’s unfair on the horse but hopefully they will learn at some point not to rely on the bit, but at the end of the day the flash strap is used to prevent the horse from either getting its tongue over the bit or avoiding the pressure from the bit. Also you clearly have no idea what you’re talking about, if a horse has bad teeth then the bit will be causing discomfort, hence why people have their horses teeth checked regularly. A horse won’t pin its ears back when eating a carrot because it doesn’t apply the same pressure as a bit

If the nose bands are adjusted correctly it will allow a horse to open its mouth enough to relieve pressure but not enough to avoid the bit.

Evitare Well he isn’t an equine channel. I understand your frustration! I felt the same way when I discovered him. He is a model/rider who is famous for being an influencer/being sponsored on Instagram. Quite the blend of things but he is mostly a model. I’ve found no matter what the video is modeling/a sponsor is always incorporated. I wish it was a strictly equine channel but I also understand that modeling is his passion/job. It’s how he makes money and he is constantly modeling for horsey brands so for him it does make sense to incorporate it into his videos.
