Love how you always are able to make something not just work, but truly nail it! Will you be adding closed captioning? Probably you are too busy. But this severely hard of hearing person would be so grateful. However I REALLY wanted to let you know...of all the fashion youtubers I've watched you are by far the easiest to understand! ❤ You enunciate and don't rush the voice over and speak with an economy of language. I'm very hard of hearing and I've stopped watching some other popular channels (and they are native English speakers) because they speak just too fast, their voices dip and fade and words mush together. So---you win the prize for most comprehensible English language costumer/fashion. Even without CC. ❤❤❤ Wishing you the best on your awesome journey to Japan!

Thank you! I'm still struggling with my English sometimes I'm glad that you can understand everything :) This is sooo much work just making project and then editing the video and everything else... I don't know if I will ever have the energy to make closed captioning but I will think about it. Thank you for your cheerfull comment

Using scraps is the way to go, but I definitely relate to the oh-god-this-would've-been-so-much-easier-if-I'd-just-bought-the-right-thing regrets. I do woodworking with my partner and love using all our extra scraps, but have definitely needed to do some weird glue ups & creative hacking to get things just right haha. Love the looks, and good luck in Japan!

So there is a flower in England called a pink. Its color and shape defined a number of terms in english including the color pink and pinking shears. The history of words is so cool.
@shelleymonson8750

Actually, I think the ragged edge of the petals (as if they had been cut with pinking shears) is the original meaning of the word; the color came later!

@ragnkja
@ragnkja 2 жыл бұрын
@@HazarielAtelier “Lyserød”, literally “light red”. It’s become uncommon and old-fashioned in the past several decades, but was quite typical in the children’s books I have from my grandmother and even some of my mother’s older books, particularly if they were already classics when she read them as a child.

I have heard that different cultures have had different perceptions of colors. Some don't recognize pink as it's own color, it's all just red and light red and some don't differentiate green and blue from each other I guess? Idk, the class I learned that in was 10 years ago, but I think I am rembering right.

for the small circle in the leaf bag(for a next time maybe) maybe use a clear vinyl or something like that? maybe? and maybe some boning instead of fabric pieces for the leaf veins( it would add structural support for you bag)

If you do not have a cricket machine, it is definitely time to use some patreon or KZbin funds to purchase one. Honestly I can't see any reason why they would not sponsor you because they sponsor tons of creator's with no where near the talent that you have. Either way, I think it's a tool that would benefit you and me when I watch you make awesome stuff....also, it's a way that you could connect to us folks out here that don't have that juicy talent by making cool patterns and files to share and sell, and I promise we will use them even knowing that whatever we make is always gonna wear just like a garbage sack. Love you!

The real problem with summer here in Japan isn`t the heat, but actually the humidity. That is the thing that makes it unbearable! Not to mention the no isolation in the buildings, which turns the inside hotter than the outside >< Too bad I live far away from Nagoya, I would love to meet you. Have fun on your trip and please drink lots of water, Japanese summer is unforgiving! Trust me, I come from Brazil and the heat here is worse!!!

The ensembles are lovely. Well done. All the very best luck for the competition. Safe travel there and back, with much fun in between. _Suggestion for using a printing block_ - When I'm using lino cut designs, like you, I glue it to a backing (maybe next time trim the cardboard to form a 1cm lip around the entire shape so you can better judge the fabric placement). To apply the paint, first you roll out the paint on a flat surface. This makes sure the paint is evenly coated on the roller. Then apply the roller to the printing block. - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi

Colors are a fascinating topic in linguistics. For example, orange is a very recent invention in most European languages, previously that shade was generally considered red. In Russian, light blue and dark blue are two distinct colors like pink and red. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nX7Ui4VppdaAoMk this is a short video by Vox about some interesting differences in color names and how it might indicate how languages evolved over time.
