Well yeah if you throw something away you always need it as soon as you can’t get it back. Like oh I need a piece of foam in the exact size and shape that come in phone cases… oh wait I threw it away two weeks ago

That is a dream stash!! It’s not hoarding! When you want to start a project at 11pm, you have all you need to at least start!! Non crafters/sewers will never understand!! When I was forced to downsize and give up all my crafting stuff, I went to a well known local craft store. I saw a very young woman going through all the clearance items and I knew she was looking for things for her craft stash. I over heard her talking to her husband and she was trying to choose what to get because she didn’t have much money. After listening for a bit I approached her and we got to talking. She reminded me so much of myself at that age. Lots of enthusiasm, very little cash. I knew this was the right person. I offered her my entire stash….for free. She thought I was crazy at first. I gave her my contact information And told her to talk it over with her husband and let me know if she wanted it. Later that day they came to my house with a truck and took everything she wanted. She cried as they hauled load after load out to the truck. She couldn’t believe I just gave her everything. I hope she’s still busy crafting 11 years later. My Heart felt right. She had two young kids and did daycare and craft shows to help make end meet.

I got my first sewing supplies when my grandma died; as they wanted to throw it away, and despite being 9 yrs old I fought to get them. At 39 and I am starting to use them, as I didn't start sewing until about 6 yrs ago. Anyway, I wanted to say that our dining table is our craft table, so I understand living in your sewing space. My husband and I do D&D, and he loves Star Wars. 😁

Yes! The cabinet of curiosities is fabulous. And yes, being a sewer means you get gifted some interesting things sometimes. My most recent was phenomenal though - a 1946 Singer 201K treadle sewing machine that was heading for a skip. Needed some serious cleaning and the top refinishing but from having not been used for over 30 years perfect tension on the first try. She's a beautiful addition to my sewing space.

I love my crafting supplies and make effort to have them organized so my world won't fall apart. It pays off 😊 But: abandoned projects often bug me. Especially when they are a few years old. Same here, my studio is clean for about an 1 hr a week, bc my xo workers kids play on my living room while we sewn so my house/studio can't be that clean for more time. In my case I hate having stuff in close storage bc I'll forget what's in what box, so I just have open boxes on a shelf and it's been very useful tbh

Thank you for the tour of you sewing/craft space, it's wonderful! I love to see how other people organise and store their stock. It is very hard to keep things organised. I have my sewing room that is my happy place!! I have floor to ceiling shelving for all my fabrics, there is a lot lol. Then I have drawers filled with everything you can think of from sequins, beads, embelishments, etc etc etc. I have drawers for all my patterns, which I make myself. I live to just pull out a drawer or two and go through them, especially rhinestone and anything sparkly!! I have been sewing for 25years so I have a hell of a lot of stuff!! Just a tip about the markers, you should store them horizontally. If you store them vertically you risk the ink pooling at the bottom if they are not regularly used. Personally it has never happened to me because i was too scared to store them vertically and risk it, but a lot of artists recommended it like this so maybe it is indeed worth it.
