Santee, I have 4 1880's suits, several matches the famous picture of Luke Short, Bat Masterson, Judge Parker, and Butch Cassidy as shown in the 1900 Dallas Photo of the Wild Bunch. My better half made them for me. I also have many 19th century accessories as watches, diamond stick pins, and rings. These are just a small amount of my various clothing outfits of the old west. Take care and our best wishes to all of the Arizona Ghoust Riders and God Bless America.

Enjoyable videos. In England we still call a waist-coat by that name; a vest is what we wear under our shirts. It is traditional not to fasten the bottom button of a waist-coat, is this something that may have been also done in the old west with formal attire?
@ArizonaGhostriders6 жыл бұрын
I didn't know you still called it that. Very cool! Interestingly, costumers have always unbuttoned my bottom vest button on western film sets, but I have yet to see a photo of that practice as it relates to the frontier. Probably should look more....bet I'd find one. Thank you for the info.

@@Soniclion1985 its for when you sit down i think. But i've always buttoned my bottom button and just unbuttoned it before i sit down
@nieldooley29066 жыл бұрын
The tradition of not fastening the waist-coat at the bottom originated because Edward llV was not able to fasten his bottom button, because he was slightly overweight. On noticing this and to prevent Edward experiencing any embarrasment, the gentlemen in his company proceeded to unbutton their bottom buttons and thats how the practise spread.
