I think I like the skirt better without the overskirt too. You get to see all the lovely gathering on the back. Also, the First Bustle Era seems more elegant than good ol' centaur butt Second Bustle Era.

A separate overskirt seems like a good idea, as it gives the wearer more options than if it was sewn to either the skirt or the bodice.

It was fun to see you shoot your bow and be so surprised that the sleeves were mostly fine, and the other outtakes are very enjoyable as well. 🏹 Thank you for another interesting and informative post.

I'm not sure if someone is told you this but you're something I enjoy doing because I enjoy sitting and watching your videos and learning new things about old-fashioned sleuthing and it's actually a really neat special interest of mine and someone of the spectrum.

I was on an Archery team in my youth and had some training in coaching. Nowadays many women wear a chest guard, but the corset would have that covered, so to speak. Good heavens, though, that ruffle on the sleeve and the bow in front is an awful lot for a bowstring to catch on. I wonder if they would have worn an arm guard while shooting, or something similar to hold the sleeve out of the way?

I’ve been watching your videos for a while but this is the first time I’m commenting because I love archery. The outfit is beautiful although it just it’s practical limits. You certainly wouldn’t be Merida riding though the forest shooting targets with a bow. It is interesting that Victorian women wanted to look good even while playing sports, Which is something that’s completely gone today. Did you notice any difference with your accuracy? And where did you learn to shoot? Also, I’ve been wanting to make video suggestions since I like your channel so much. You do mostly European clothing, but I’d love to see other western styles, like the US or Latin America. Not many people do historial hispanic clothing, and I think you’d have fun with it because there’s a lot of overlap with European clothing. But I also have a bit of an odd request. Can you do a video of what Anne Bonny wore when she was a pirate in the late 1710s? Keep making fun videos :D

Shooting- corset supports my posture, accuracy better over longer shooting sessions. I am sorry but I leave other cultures and styles to the people who live there.
