As a fan of Giant Bomb, it feels real bad hearing this, but also as a fan of Drew Scanlon, I'm happy that he has the opportunity to set his own course and do what he wants with his life. Best of luck to him.

Raymond Terry I'm really interested to see what he does next. I'm assuming something non video game related. With his film experience and as much as he loves traveling to other countries I could imagine some pretty cool documentary type projects.

This popped up in my feed all these years later (I guess because of the algorithm) after watching the Nextlander interview on MinnMax about them leaving. If you missed it, Drew went on to launch his project that same year: ClothMap. He does documentaries about gaming culture (video and otherwise) around the world. There's a YT channel, good stuff if you're into that sort of thing. Nothing new for last year for...obvious reasons.

@@overtherenowaitthere I remember watching every UPF and bombcast around this era and in my opinion (obviously I don't know them personally) there was a big shift in Jeff's behavior after Drew left. He seemed if not depressed then at least distraught for all the shows following the departure. It's always possible there was something happening in his personal life that coincided with Drew leaving but remember that not only did he lose a good work buddy he knew he would have to find a replacement for Drew (and good luck replacing Drew). It's easy to see why that would be stressful because Drew leaving impacted not only the work environment but the quality of the "product" as well, and as the "head of GB" Jeff would be held responsible. Many still consider Drew leaving to mark the "end of the golden era" for GB and I can't fully disagree.

@@poika22 The east/west split really hurt them by quarantining Vinny but I gotta say Jan is a great replacement for Drew. Now that Abby and Dan are gone it feels a lot better.
