After a long internal debate, I decided to proceed with sharing this video. It was shot 3 weeks before Russia invaded Ukraine. I am disgusted by Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine and I do not support this war. Thoughts going out to all of our friends and loved ones in Ukraine. This story is one that I have been planning to tell for 5 years and I’m really excited to finally share the beautiful life in Yakutsk - the World’s Coldest City. Thank you for watching and I look forward to reading your comments ❤️

Russian people are mostly great people, just like most people are good anywhere. They are in no way to blame for anything at all! I do have some Russian friends and I was in Russia during the World Cup 2018, met so many great and welcoming Russians there. It was the trip of my life so far. Politics is not going to change that - love the people and the culture, landscapes etc. still. People are not their leaders. Let's therefore not hate on Russian people - thank you for sharing this to show that. Also Yakutia is a place I would really like to go to someday. I also met some people from Yakutia in Almaty, Kazakhstan in the hostel I was staying in while there. It's a part of the world that's fascinating me. Winter is interesting for sure but I would also like to go in summer for the nature and the Ysyakh celebrations; it's a huge Yakut traditional celebration in summer, you can look it up if you want to.

It's naive to think that Putin stands on his own. Russians cheered for him for taking the krym in 2014. The military consists also of normal people, and they still decide to fight for him. Ukrainians lay down in front of the tanks to stop them, not the Russians. Every person who supported Putin in the past has blood on their hands, but my hard goes out for the russian who protest him !

❄️This is such an amazing adventure in the coldest city of Yakutsk, Russia. It’s great to see how the locals thrive even in this sub arctic weather. The people of Yakutsk 💕 are wonderful and treat each other like one big family. Praying for peace, hope and stability for the 💞lovely people of Ukraine 🇺🇦.❄️

The first breath is like a temp guage to me. It was never anything I thought about till you mentioned it. In the morning I step outside and breath to see how cold it is. I'm not in Russia. I'm in Minnesota btw. It's crazy how people have such different experiences that we cant even begin to imagine till be go there ourselves

Maybe after the Russians kill thousands and thousands of children Drew will reconsider his timing of posting videos glorifying Russian culture

This isn't russian culture. Are you blind? It's sakha culture but yest drew has presented it as just another part of 'russia' lol

Thanks Drew! Awesome long video. Gorgeous people, although it’s freezing it seams like everyone is extremely warm and welcoming. I can’t imagine one of these people in this video have a problem with Ukraine. Goes to show this war isn’t against the Russian people but against the pathetic government and leadership.
