My dad was born in Yakutsk. One of the best stories I've heard from him is that when he was a child, the teachers said to his class in school: "If the temperature drops to -57°C (-71°F) tomorrow, you'll stay home and won't need to go to school". It dropped to -56°C so everyone had to go to school :D

Ammar... If you don't read any other comments today, you need to read this one. Your positivity & your genuine thoughtfulness for everyone you meet, is infectious. I'm fairly new to your channel, a few weeks, however that hasn't stopped me from telling most everyone I know. When I watched this video and watched as you thought of your father along your journey to the pyramid, your sadness and joy touched my soul. In May of 2020 I moved back to my hometown to be close to my Mother, brother & sister. That August, we unexpectedly lost my brother. He was 46. I've lost people close to me before, but never a sibling. This was an entirely new pain. As bad as it was, there was a calm inside me because I knew one day I'd see him again. He passed peacefully in his sleep at 46 yrs young. My mother still lives in the house my brother passed in. Not for much longer, as her landlord is selling the house. My mother is 71, makes $800/month on SSI. I'll be helping her move to a woman's homeless shelter soon as her landlord preps the house for sale. I live in a rooming house so I can't take her in. I'm say all this simply to tell you that, as bad as it was, as bad as it is, Yes Theory and especially YOU AMMAR, infect us with positivity! Mom and I continue to keep our heads up and smile. We remain optimistic, even when we're Uncomfortable 😉 I just wanted to say Thank You, and thank the rest of you. If ever for a second you wonder if your videos make a difference, know that they absolutely do. 100% From New Jersey with love, respect & gratitude. The Campbell Family

@@BooksRebound NFT is not a bubble! it's just still early in it's development. Not telling you to invest anything right at this moment, but in 10 years from now, it's extremely likely NFT's are all around us in daily life. Projects like this will make people familiar with the technology. We are enjoying the internet right...? or should we go back to a newspaper? Children and young adults typically embrace "change" a lot easier, therefor it will definitely take some time.

Theres some misconceptions going around regarding that. According to the research I've seen from people much smarter than myself on the subject, it looks like there's no real-world difference in environmental impact. To quote from an article: "There is nothing intrinsic to NFTs which makes them destructive to the environment. As of February 2022 we have 20+ NFT platforms and only one of note uses energy as fuel, Ethereum. The rest have negligible environmental impact, no different from when you’re streaming, playing games, using your phone, and so on."

@ralphanator4

I feel the same way. I think since this film has been in production for a while they decided to use NFT's while they were really hot. I can understand why at a glance it seems like a valid way of funding this film but with the care and attention they take towards the environment, towards researching countries and places, and the attention to detail in general, I'm honestly surprised they decided to continue using NFT's. There are much better methods of funding the film. The monetization model for the last documentary was perfect and didn't need to be changed to a slower, higher energy consuming, and ultimately pointless system. The NFT itself would only contain a serial number showing "Ownership" I mean they could just email the serial numbers. I don't see how putting it on a public ledger really makes it easier or simpler to use.

I've been a viewer since the group was called "Generation Y-Not" and you all lived in a small house, but I can't keep consciously supporting your work if you're endorsing and producing NFTs. There's a myriad of reasons why NFTs and a lot of the "Web3" movement have negative ethical, environmental, and economic consequences. You're funding a documentary about going to Antarctica with something that contributes to its destruction. I hope you take this as constructive criticism and reconsider promoting something that stands against the values you've sought to showcase on this channel.

@@bloodycarnage5491 I'm not screaming lies or spreading false information; I was referring to NFTs and Web3 as a whole. I know Yes Theory is using Polygon, which uses less energy and has less costs, but the whole endorsement and use of NFTs is going down a slippery slope. This encourages people to partake in an ecosystem where the vast majority of NFTs, roughly 95%, are minted with Ethereum (proof of work). Frankly, there are countless other factors beyond the environmental impact that make NFTs controversial and dangerous.
