One thing you didn't mention about the Shinkansen is their frequency: they leave every 5 minutes. To me, that's even more impressive than the top speed. And local trains can run even more often. Public transit is best when you never need to look at a schedule: you just show up and take the next train. Tokyo takes this to a whole other level: it's not even worth running for the train because another one will be there by the time you slowly walk to the platform.

Japan has no active army, only defense force (very small). Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution (1) Aspiring sincerely to an international peace based on justice and order, the Japanese people forever renounce war as a sovereign right of the nation and the threat or use of force as means of settling international disputes. (2) In order to accomplish the aim of the preceding paragraph, land, sea, and air forces, as well as other war potential, will never be maintained. The right of belligerency of the state will not be recognized.

This video made me appreciate life in the slow lane, country scenes, a small community, spending hours to prepare a special meal with loved ones, lazy Sundays on the porch with your dog. The word Ahead makes me feel like we’re in some kind of race but sometimes the simple things are good too. With that said, Japan is truly a land of innovators and geniuses. Love the robots especially.

In Japan, we have slow life too. During the weekends, we take a nice train to go to hot spring spa surrounded by deep forests and mountains, having special local meals. 80% of Japan is mountainous with scarce population- there are a plenty of options of slow life in the country side if you wish in Japan. This video is focused on big cities. No worries - slow life style is NOT the monopoly of the West. What I appreciate about Japan and being Japanese is that we appreciate differences among people, nationalities and cultures. We do not struggle to always try to find better and superior in oneself desperately trying to look for interiors in "others" that you consider them to be "others" often based on race, region, nationality, culture and tradition. Think relativism is the key, which probably lacks fundamentally in some countries where your education and media obsessively brainwash about the superiority and absolutism about your own society's value and the way of living and people do not even doubt their minds are not reallh entirely free. Think relativism is the key to the peace for not harming others and not harming yourself in the end as return.

This guy ain't kidding. Your own banks' ATMs will charge you if you use them after bank hours. Not using your card in a rival bank -- your OWN bank. Then the ATMs become unusable after a few hours until the next day when they "go back to work". They are not 24 hours, even on weekdays. Once you can start talking / listening Japanese then all of jp ppl's anxiety / shyness / xenophobia feeling disappear. 2. try to be more open and respect others except he/she is really evil or bad person. 3. Some event cancelled because of covid so pls check web site. 4. Just visit eat "fu-un-ji ramen" goo.gl/maps/6Ct7VJD4DWbfP72v6 .
