the dude explaining Korea just took what happened with Korea and removed it from history. he didn't give an alternative history. a north Korea would've existed if Korea had a distinctive culture like in the real time line. Russia and the US would've just split it. if it was just another japonaise island it would've changed japonaise history but not the US presence in the region.

The only problem I have with the “If N. Korea never existed” is that if it never existed then people would never have been able to go to S. Korea and Japan because during the last great Ice Age, there was a land bridge between Korea and Japan. So if N. Korea never existed it would have taken humans much longer to get to Korea and Japan or they would have had to somehow island hop from China to Japan or go to Russia and then go south to Japan and S. Korea. This scenario would change history unbelievably. 🇰🇷🇰🇵🇯🇵🇷🇺🇨🇳

Well, there's one big difference: Rhodesia was re-transformed into a british colony in 1980 and became independent again as zimbabwe afterwards. South Africa didn't lose izs indepedence at any point during the change from apartheid to its modern form
