There are certain unique feelings and vibes each gojira album emits, for me personally at least... Terra incognita -conserved, dark, juvenile but sinister The link -an ancestral, tribal and primitively raw power, pumping through our veins throughout evolution Mars to Sirius -Larger than life, moving through a universe that is literally too vast for us to understand The way of all flesh -a very primal and raw connection we have with our true self, like an analysis of human nature itself L'enfant Sauvage -melancholic, the thin line or grey area between sadness and pure anger. Magma -an ethereal out of body experience, leaving your body to place your mind amongst the stars Fortitude- hope, unity, the power to go on, finding reason to continue fighting, holding on and pushing through the struggle, the grind. Or at least thats just what I feel from them :)

@Big Homie Steve The Metal Head agreed, and a lot of the things people say about their newer music is found in their older stuff as well.. melodic stuff, clean vocals, strong bass lines. In the Forest has a bit of all of that, as just one example.

This was my favorite song from the new album. Lyrics are so beautiful. I just wish the vocals were a little higher on this album, especially when they're chanting "We're all on the same boat, we're going down . We're all on the same boat, we're going high" in the outro.

I listened to an interview of Joe and he said that we wanted the voice to be in the mix like the other instruments, this is why the voice is a little bit lower than before, and why there is so much voices layered together

I didn't thinkabout the vocals thing but this song is my fave as well on the new album. I think it blends pre-magma stuff and this album and gives me that heavy gojira shit i need but w that beautiful melodic sound from magma and FMTS

New Found is my favorite too. It’s such a well constructed harmony.. joyful, hopeful, powerful. I think the vocals are perfectly produced - so richly layered.

The main riff stomps in like Billy Big Bollocks and immediately owns the place. I love the "cat screech" effect going on that punctuates more meaning into it. Thats a cool sound that reminds me of Pantera's Dimebag Darrell and Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello. And just when ya tink 'tis over, a rampagin' ruckus lap of honor is had via that amazing outro! It feels so good, and theres enuff deep grooves going on to flatten and plough through a large bog the size of Connacht.

Very Gojira riff pushed far timewise with not a lot of place to breathe, creating frustration but leading towards a Good melodic chorus to release the pressure. Good outro too. Nicely done.

Joe has said that the group was in a great place for this album.. and the joy they felt making it is reflected in a less dissonant sound. I love it, once I started viewing everything on this album through that prism.
