I'm truck bed camping and exploring North Carolina. I've made my way to this amazing stream and completely shocked by what I've found. Not only is it one of the prettiest streams I've ever seen...it's loaded with trout. I caught browns, rainbows, and brookies. I fished a dry/dropper rig (explained in the video) and at times a single dry...everything caught fish.

By fly fishing your giving the fish a fighting chance. I choose the best tippet to get the most eats but also land them as quickly as possible and released as strong as possible. You've convinced me to share a video I edited from this day but hadn't decided if I wanted to share. That big brown nearly died bc it fought so hard and it took almost 4 mins to land. I'll share it soon.

Addicting you say and you ˋre every bit right. Perhaps my count isn ˋt right but to me it was 10 brookies, 6 browns and 5 rainbows (maybe 7 browns and 6 rainbows?) I don ´t know where to start. The stream is pure bliss to your eyes: the purity of the water which is gin clear. You feel like drinking it! And its features and surroundings…its solitude… The variety of species, the powerful fights they put …and the more than decent size of all the catches, especially that of the brookies! No less than TEN brookies of that outstanding size! A fishing trip like that renders you in a mental state of euphoria for several days. When I myself have had a successful fishing day in a beautiful wild environment, especially in autunm, I could not cease to talk to myself “How beautiful is fishing…” and also to my friends, who would surely think this Antonio is a little nuts. It is also a feeling of gratitude for being granted such a joy in a beautiful natural environtment. A superb video. No more adjectives are needed.

I've used orvis, SA and cortland but pretty much stick with orvis now bc they have been really good to me over the years. In the past, I bought seaguar red label or berkeley 4lb at walmart and respooled old tippet spools. The biggest thing is if you want 2 or 3 lb flouro and a diameter smaller than .006 which is 5x. 6x is .005. 7x .004...which helps tying to small flies. So...I buy the fly fishing equivalent in 6x or 7x and whatever is cheapest at walmart above 4lb ... really long explanation lol!
