I'm truck bed camping and exploring North Carolina when Travis recognized me from KZbin and offered to show me his favorite stream. He sent me a pin and a time to meet him. The next day we loaded up in his side-by-side and made our way to a remote and rugged area to fish for wild rainbow and native brook trout. This was one of my favorite days of fishing ever. Nothing better than hanging out with like-minded people and making new friends.
I spent 4 weeks in the area and shared several videos on my channel!

It’s always great when someone shares their fishing spots. Too many times people are afraid that if they tell anyone where they’ve successfully caught fish in the past, they believe that the spot will be “ruined” but that’s exceptionally rare. 99.999% people watching on KZbin will never get off their couch to go try to find that oh-so-secret place …

You are truly a sharp shooter with that light rig. That whole scenario of fishing through a hair brush for native trout jetted me back to upstate New York in the 70's. Some of those streams were a fifth of the flow and held rewarding jewels. Rock on Drew!

In Northern Nevada its 100 degrees and about 5% humidity. Truckee river water temps are well above 60 degrees and climbing. Watching your videos cools me down about 20 degrees and makes this heat wave slightly more bearable. Thanks Drew!

The best??? Pretty little creek I reckon but imo his ID stuff is his best work. Those NI Westlopes make these brookies look like peanuts. Better size & beauty in a dynamic landscape. Had similar success on the panhandle in Gem country💎

Is that an Orvis Ultralight graphite rod? I have one that is a 7’6” 1wt and the wild bows and native brookies here in NC feel massive on it. Great video, and there is so much great fishing here in NC right on the side of the road. People believe that there are not any trout in them or it’s fished too heavy. Not the case at all. If there is water, it very well may have a trout in it!

Hello Drew, I doubt if you will respond to this, but I figured it's worth a shot. Here in SW Colorado my wife and I (and everybody else around here) have just about had it with the Invasion of the Texans. If Texas is so great, why do thousands of them come to Colorado every year?? Anyway, we are thinking about relocating to western North Carolina, but we've never been there. Based on your experience, what general area would you focus on, if fly fishing for trout was one of your top priorities? Please answer, please please !!!
Every trout in sight of this bridge was rising - These days are rare!
