The Battle of Bruma was actually Martin's idea though. In order to get the Great Sigil stone to open the portal to Paradise, he sends the champion (you) to convince the Bruma count and guards to stop closing the gates that keep appearing and allow the Mythic Dawn to open the great gate, just so the champion can get in there and grab the stone. It's a hell of a risky move but at that point in the story there's no other way.

I have a theory that the Dragonborn, so long as they’re a human, that they are a descendant of Martin Septim. Given that homeboy was involved in the cult of Sanguine, it’s quite possible he had a few secret children of his own.
@Cekseiro8 ай бұрын
Technically speaking that wouldn't necessarily be impossible in any instance except argonians, who are incapable of breeding with the other player races. It's just that the lion's share of traits come from the mother... Now granted, that would be one wonky family tree if we're talking khajiit, but technically they ARE elves.
@Ryan-co9xc7 ай бұрын
@@Cekseiro yeah but the book racial phylogeny explicitly states that khajiit are totally different in terms of bodily function and metabolism, making a successful offspring between mer or man with a khajiit nearly impossible. I’m not saying it’s impossible, I just find it highly unlikely that even if an offspring did occur in the bloodline that it would successfully reproduce.
@Cekseiro7 ай бұрын
@@Ryan-co9xc Re-reading through it, however, and the book also seems to suggest there have been reports on both Khajiit/non-Khajiit *AND* Argonian/non-Argonian pairings producing offspring, just none being well enough documented to actually bring up. Also I'm gonna just say it, it's really weird that the 3rd and 7th Editions of Racial Phylogeny are verbatim matches to one-another. You'd think further studies would've been funded at least ONCE over the course of ~900 years.

My own head canon always had that Martin was a Shezzarine, or at least Talos reborn. Talos isn't just Lorkhan. He might be the other side of the fusion of Auriel and Shor that created Akatosh. I also suspect that, when Talos worship ceased, Alduin was brought back because he wasn't fused to Lorkhan anymore.

I miss the days where I'd come home from university tired and hungry. I'd be in the kitchen making dinner when I'd notice that Drewmora uploaded a video. Sometimes a few days would pass before I took notice but whenever I did I'd immediately leave a half funny comment. And I'd go to my room and turn on the air conditioning. I would grab my dinner and sit up in my bed while I ate and after I was done I'd brush my teeth and then fall asleep. All while watching the newest Drewmora video. So much has happened since I last did that and I imagine I'll never get that sense again. But every time when I see that a new video has come out; when I watch it I'm reminded of the time so valuable. The time that I unfortunately took for granted. I have loved Drewmora for so many reasons but now I love the channel because it reminds me of what life I used to live. How simpler and joyful it all was. Thank you, Drew.

An important fact is how the Septim line is not directly related to Tiber Septim. How were they able to keep the fires lit after Tiber's death? I believe ol' talos made a contingency plan. My thinking is that Tiber Septim's apotheosis was not him becoming a god but was more him using Almsivi to mantain his over-soul within the amulet of kings. That way anyone who wears the amulet is "manteling" Tiber, making them dragonborn and keeping the Covenant of Akatosh alive. When the emperor dies wearing the amulet, their soul is fully absorbed into the Septim over-soul. So when Martin breaks open the amulet, he is using himself as a conduit for all the Septim "dragonborn" emporers before him. This is why he takes the form of a dragon to defeat Dagon. The release of the Septim over-soul destroys Martin's body but keeps the dragon fires lit! Atleast this is my head cannon xD

I'm still not convinced that "numantia" is "liberty". In Ayleidoon "ada" means "god", while "math" is "home", implying that "adamantia" could mean "House of God(s)" in Aldmeris - which is corroborated by the, admittedly, non-canon Shor Son of Shor, where Adamantian tower is called "House of We". I think it is reasonable to say that, something that is House of Gods for mortals, will be House of We for Gods. This leads me to assume that "mantia" actually means "home" in Aldmeris, so "numantia" would be some kind of a home. I'm not sure what "nu" means, but in Ayleidoon "nou" means "our" -- so numantia could mean Ours (mortals) Home opposed to Gods Home. Or, perhaps, it is related to "ne" -- "never". Mer, reasonably, could call Mundus "Forever not our Home" as they think they are trapped and should be elsewhere. Whichever "home" it is, "numantia" can be called liberty only as a some sort of allegory -- for example, mortals conquer Mundus from Eight Divines, it becomes "their home" and now they are free from Divine's intervention?
@squidmanfedsfeds5301 Жыл бұрын
If the elves believe they were originally the aedra and spirits, maybe numantia means a return to that form which we know a lot of elves want, an escape from mundus and a return to their spirit forms A return to home maybe
@lillifeless197 Жыл бұрын
To me, just because it means Our Home literally in Aldmeris, doesn’t remove its capacity to have been transliterated over millennia of context we don’t have as outside viewers. Allegorical expression sometimes ends up altering the very content of languages, especially in terms of culturally, or religiously significant phrases, terms, and jargon. The literal does not have to be removed for the allegorical to be just as accurate, especially in a series as poetically focused as TES. I’m just spitballing here too of course 😅

What if the destruction of the amulet of kings to free the aspect that transformed Martin into the avatar of Akatosh is the parallel of Auri-El being freed from the snare of Lorkhan? The amulet is said to be the blood of Lorkhan yet it holds the power of the time god. There might also be a reason why one of the most remembered soundtracks of Oblivion is Auriel's Ascension.

In my mind, the Champion was never the same after Martin left. The fact that post-Shivering Isles Sheogorath still thinks highly of him seems to imply they had a closer friendship then the gameplay of Oblivion could allow. I also find the parallels shown within the story of Oblivion fascinating in that in order to open the portal to paradise, you needed to gather certain items of both aedric and daedric origin or at least items related to those two groups. Martin mantled an Aedra while his friend mantled a Daedra. There is also the fact that St. Alessia's soul is rumored to be housed in the Amulet of Kings. If the Knights of the Nine is canon, then the Champion of Cyrodiil also mantled Pelinal Whitestrake who was one of Alessia's champions. Just something interesting to note. It would be cool if this was expanded on in a future game but with the dumbing down of a lot of the lore I doubt it.

Dope vid Drew, as always. I had a question about your last vid actually, unsure you saw. I was wondering, considering everything we know about Meridia, the Maga-Ge and Aedra, and all the different interpretations, do you think it's possible for Meridia to be redeemed in the eyes of the Aedra? If she has an overall positive effect on Tamriel, helping our heroes and fighting other daedra, could it possibly make up for her past actions, and maybe even be allowed to return to Athereius one day? I think of the conclusion of the Companion's questline where Kodlak says perhaps the heroes of Sovngarde can rescue the other werewolf harbingers from oblivion in the 'Harrowing of the Hunting Grounds' and return to Sovngarde. If Mortals can be redeemed this way, can former Magna-Ge?
