The most clean and refined telling. I'm not exactly sure what liberties were taken but I 100 percent support it! It's a bartic right for somebody who is a master storyteller and it forms into truth on Nirn.

The idea of taking hyperbolic history literally sounds appealing, but makes it way harder to understand the timeline. I'd like to see a series about the complete history of elder scrolls minus the poetics and exaggeration, and another one describing everything literally.

It’s a disservice to every fan and Bethesda itself every day that passes they do not hire this man! Wildly well spoken and knowledgeable is he. I pray the Nine may hear this and correct this that needs correcting. 🙏

What do you make of the implication that gold road makes that the aeylids didnt just die out, but small pocketed either intermingled or became modern bosmer

History school drop-out here: so, in terms of cruelty and bloodshed, the Ayleids had nothing on the Mexica (Aztecs) from the... central highlands of what is now Mexico. Look up the scores of people sacrificed, the Tower of Skulls in the Great Temple, the rituals of Xipe Totec, and the original recipe for the local dish: pozole. At least the Ayleids didn't eat their victims, that we know of.

Drew, I know I’m late to the punch with the comment but sincerely, thank you for taking the time to research AND edit these videos. I know from personal experience how much time it takes to edit ONE video that lasts for maybe 10 minutes of watch time, if you keep your quality up to where you want it. I can’t even imagine over two hours, especially with how deep you dive into different resources just to make them. Thank you.

Amen and we are all blessed to have such a great KZbinr that cares about what he does and the material he puts out. I don't care who you are or what you think, Drewmora gives us all such an amazing effort with all his work. It truly is amazing to have a person loving what they are doing and cares about the product he put out. I am impressed with all the work he and his friends have done over the years. We need another Skyrim to come out so we can get many more years of his hard work and effort. Many thanks to you Drewmora and all you give us. 💯✌👍👊🙏

Though your idea, that the bird people of ancient Cyrodiil may have mixed in and integrated into Ayleid society, is very intriguing, I feel like I have to go against some of the arguments. It could just as well be, that the Ayleids went a step further with the Aldmeri love for avian imagery, and adorned themselves with feathers wherever possible. Similarly, I think it more likely, that they created their arrows in a way, that they resemble the head or beak of a bird, instead of actually using beaks of birds or the bird people as tips for their arrows. But since all of their arms and armor seem to primarily invoke the image of an eagle, I'd guess the same to be true for arrowheads, which I can't really see, as all kinds of Eagle I can think of have a more or less hooked beak, which wouldn't work that great for arrowheads. No, I think it far more probable, that in this case, it's some form of poetic description, in which the author, likely inspired by the avian imagery of elven arms and armor, likened getting pierced by their arrows to getting wounded by the beak of a bird of prey, similar to poetic descriptions in our own History, where for example the norse used something like "bearer of rings" to describe kings or princes, how a host of soldiers was described as an "armyworm", likely due to how the line of marching formations looked like a snake from an elevated viewpoint, or how feared entities were talked about with descriptions instead of names out of fear to call in or summon said entity, like with the ancient germans (teutons?), who used the description of brun/bruno, meaning "the brown" to refer to a bear, or, in a more modern example, how the Eldar in the 40k setting refer to the Chaos god Slaanesh as "She who thirsts" instead of by her name. I'm sorry, if the examples aren't the best. This was a case of "reading/hearing about such things all the time while looking for something else, but the moment you look for it, you can't find a single example of it"
