Hey y'all--couple things: first up, I chatted with Ronan and he pointed out to me that I had mispronounced his name. His last name should be pronounced more like "McLoklin" rather than "McLofflin" as I'm doing here. I apologize for the error! Second, if you'd like to check out any of my other top 5 tricks videos, you can do so here: kzbin.info/aero/PLGRWu2f31dFWLcMAX4ndt_gDAoICh4aZt

Ah, the nostalgia is strong :) I've not spun poi for years, but way back when (Mid 90's!) it was always a pleasure and an education hanging with Ronan.

I always loved his videos, and when I first got to meet him and see him spin in person I was just blown away! Very nice guy too

Idk if these tricks are specifically Ronan's but he's the first one I saw doing them(also not sure exactly what they're called). But his work with isolations would have been an awesome addition! The way he moves isolation across his body and can make it look like a fully isolated 4 beat fountain is one of the most mesmerizing tricks I've ever seen. Still haven't gotten it down myself but anytime I want inspiration I watch his performance at "Play 2013". Such an amazing sequence. Awesome video drex! I think Yuta would be another awesome pick for this series!

Videos like this are so cool! I think you could capitalize on doing this for guests from the poidcast and i think rather than stealing any light from the show, it would help to highlight the great talent we have in our community as well as bringing the cool tricks/knowledge that videos like this bring us

Ronan is a legend! I thought this was a great list, especially your break down of each trick and the variations. I had no idea he invented contact rolls either! Mind blown!

Glad you enjoyed it!

I'd add his wallplane antispin flower into wallpane extension or inspin flower. As for others, thinking about Mel, Vojta both are still active in the community.

Oooh! Mel would be hella fun to do a list on!

Great choices for top moves from him. *note: the word graphics at 1:47 when you introduce vertical stacking say "basic 3d"

Hi Drex, I was trying to find Ronan's night time Burning Man performance from 2010 (I think?). From memory I am pretty sure it was uploaded to your channel. Either way I can't find it which is a shame because it has always been my favourite night time burn video, as well as featuring many of the tricks you talk about here in their pristine glory. I'm sure you know the one I'm talking about and was wondering if you knew why happened to it. Thanks!
