I’d say vanity tries to get ahead in a sort of arrogant way but insecurity tries to not fall behind in an anxious way. An appearance of vanity can be overcompensation for insecurity: I think I’m ugly, so if I’m 100% on trend for beauty no one can say I’m ugly.

Her weight loss and warm blonde hair are competing with her beauty, I think. Obviously she has had many procedures, but she definitely seems thinner to me lately. Additionally, this tone of blonde is really harsh on her. The blonde tone she had in her Sweetener era was much more flattering to her undertone. I wonder how much this golden blonde is affecting how we’re seeing her.

Yes, that shade of yellow blonde just isn’t working for her at all. *Maybe* with her naturally pale complexion but even with a light tan it just doesn’t look good. It washes her out and makes her look ill, especially because she went really light with the brows too. Nobody is really commenting on how her style of makeup is also affecting how we see her face now. We’re all so accustomed to seeing her with a cat eye but nobody is really taking into account how eye makeup can transform someone’s eye shape and even the size. I think her weight loss is the main thing that affected her appearance but it’s a combination of that, hair, and makeup that make her nearly unrecognizable. I honestly don’t think she’s had as much work done as people are saying.

I feel like the blonde she has now plus her bleached brows make her brown eyes look beady and like black dots. Brown eyebrows complimented her tan skin and brown eyes much better despite her blonde hair in Sweetener. I think Sweetener looked good because her eyebrows were still brown. Most blonde celebs don't have bleached brows and if they do, it's for an edgy look

I can also confirm from personal experience that a septoplasty undertaken to address breathing issues does NOT change the external look of your nose at.all. So if someone's nose looks different afterwards it is because of a deliberate decision to change their appearance, NOT because their septum was modified to improve breathing. And mine was extremely deviated.
@brenka1509
@brenka1509 11 ай бұрын
I had a septoplasty in which my surgeon had to remove cartilage from my ear to fix my very damaged nose cartilage (terrible bike accident, broken nose, problems breathing, blah blah blah). The goal wasn't to change my appearance (it was for breathing and repair) but even so, I have felt like my nose looked different since I had it done, and it has taken me a while to come to terms with the difference. I still am coming to terms with it. ....my family and friends say they can't see any difference at all other than that my nose looks straight again.
@Lockssubs
@Lockssubs 10 ай бұрын
This isn't necessarily true because breathing problems can cause a crooked nose and getting a septoplasty it would correct this; same with a deviated septum surgery. Your right tho the it's suppossed to be meant for breathing difficulties.

Sure I was a little swollen (my daughter likened my appearance to a dog that got stung by a bee on the nose) BUT no black eyes or anything like that. I followed directions very carefully. Not something I would do for fun. But not horrible. My co-workers on video couldn't really tell much except that I sounded stuffy (because of the packing). Of course famous people can suffer from body dismorphia. But I think that in general, they just need to be pretty because it's part of their job. Not fitting the current beauty standards, means less roles in movies, less advertising contracts, less sponsors etc... And when the trend is over, they get under the knife to fit the new beauty trend. You can this with the Kardashians : they all reversed their BBL.

Good point. How many plastic surgeons would do that? Most seem to have some God complex where they act like they know it all. I wish he WERE on the West Coast! I need major breathing help and met with 3 surgeons I didn't like. One told me they had "no idea" how I would look after they rebuilt my septum and seriously asked why I would care how a rebuilt nose would look as long as I can breath (I felt implying I was vain). Well, yeah, I think most people would care about how the center of their face would look after such a major surgery. I think Ariana's weight is definitely a huge factor here. I've always been pretty skinny all my life, but in my late 20's my face started looking skinnier too, my skin seemed thinner and looser, similar to what I think is happening to Ariana, and so my bones were way more visible. Gaining some weight fixed that, tho, so I'm pretty sure she could just work on gaining some weight and she would look younger and more like herself again.

And when you are a young woman, you are expected to look fit, but not too much, with some curves, but not too much, and beautiful. And while some things can be found beautiful in different shapes, sizes or colors, like eyes or lips, for other things, there's only one acepted type, like the nose, and yes, you can have a big, hooked droopy nose in your 20's and even earlier. Like right after they’re done cutting you open they’re going to go cheat on the mother of their 5 children with some barely legal girl that he doesn’t even believe he has to pay for. If I am meant to go unconscious I need everyone from the nurses , anesthesiologist, be the surgeon to be GOOD people. Spiritually , good people. When my soul is in another dimension unable to control my environment, no standard is too high. The souls around me need to be sending positive beautiful energy. There’s so many doctors I could call out right now for their terrible work and even worse personalities all up and down the west coast , specifically for rhinoplasty . @@palladium607 I live in Seattle and I’m referring to doctors here in Seattle. I am not familiar enough with California and much less Hollywood to say whether they’re the problem. Men with penises who are born with entitlement issues and handed an opportunity too great for their maturity level ( education opportunities that lead to positions of power, like surgeons ) are the real issue, at least in my book. Just slimy. They are pigs. MOST of them. That’s most of men , not just most of surgeons. If the percentage of men who have good morality and actually stand by their word were represented on a piece of paper it wouldn’t even be visible to the human eye. 80% of all violent crimes are perpetrated by men. I am aware that the eternal abuse of women and female children is rampant in Hollywood from what I have heard, but it’s certainly not limited to California. Good men, much less good male doctors are practically non existent. A doctor that doesn’t have anything to do with surgery used his position to touch me in ways he had no need to and when he was done and I questioned him about it, he laughed in my face. So it’s not all Hollywood. It’s all penis people in positions of power. But Dr. Gary from my position here as a viewer on YT , seems to be very upstanding , strong morality , values the importance of family , and never speaks disparagingly about women or their features. He just speaks facts. And we shouldn’t expect anything less from professionals who possess the capacity to murder or disfigure you.

I miss natural faces. One night I watched Carrie and The Shining back to back and marveled at how gorgeous both Sissy Spacek and Shelly Duvall were. I mean, no, neither of them would be considered beautiful today…maybe?? But it was so refreshing seeing faces that adhered to no standard. Both of them were rather extreme looking and when I was younger I thought they were both unattractive, but now, at 45 I’m just so tired of how generic everyone is starting to look. These hybrid type women. I love seeing Maggie Gyllenhaal and Kirsten Dunst. Natural. Normal. Regular faces that AGED. I really wish women allowed themselves to embrace genuine natural beauty. Not just makeup free hashtag crap. Faces have gotten very homogenous and with the almost universal use of procedures we just don’t see a lot of nuance anymore. Big eyed, big lips, high cheekbones and I feel like I’m looking at an army of half Ukrainian half Venezuelan woman. Skinny but voluptuous, pale skinned but big lipped…high cheekbones and chilled jaws.

The recovery was 2 weeks, the first week I took all the pain meds and just slept a LOT lol, the 2nd week I started feeling better, was bruised but it wasn’t terrible. To me this is like an addiction that no one addresses, so it just keeps happening, and to younger and younger ppl. It's like most of them can't get one or two things done, they tend to go overboard, and it's sad. They need mental/professional help that they are not receiving bc it's "the norm" in Hollywood. It's hard to notice, admit and put your pride aside to then seek out help for something when you are in the grip of it. Too bad these surgeons are not like Dr. Gary here and obviously put money over morals.

Many (not all) who get plastic surgery are deeply insecure, usually it doesn't end up being just one thing but the person's whole image. So it's understandable why plastic surgery becomes addictive, one you've broke the wall to actually GET plastic surgery then these girls think the worlds your oyster. This is especially true with botox and such, the lady in the video even spoke about how when she had previously had botox it was so easy to book an appointment and just get it done.

Ariana stated that she was drinking a lot before and now doesn’t. Alcohol does very much bloat the face, particularly in sensitive individuals. I think the face looks gaunt because she is underweight, washed out looking due not having the tanning injections and spray tan anymore PLUS she has bleached her brows and hair to a medium ash blonde. Also I notice she is not using false lashes and the heavy winged liner either, which can really change the way the face looks

Really appreciate your content, and Stephanie’s ❤ I do think that procedures may start out for some individuals to “stand out” and set themselves apart, but so many people’s faces in the industry are looking so alike, to the point of being “cookie cutter” and like replicas of each other. Perhaps from getting the same procedures done but also picking out the same example of “nose” as each other. I think they’re losing a lot of what made them stand out. I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with elective cosmetic procedures at all but I do feel that as a whole, we should be more selective with them. Especially in younger people. Again, love your videos. Definitely no shaming anyone on your part and informing everyone so they can decide if something is right for them and what things to consider.

Regarding the buccal fat/weight loss discussion around 12min- Ariana did lose weight around that time. She was somewhat open about her poor mental health and alcohol consumption after the Manchester bombing/Mac Miller. She did gain some weight and it was most obvious around the waist, legs, and face. That’s what I think is crazy about the “she’s just aging!” argument. She’s almost 30, not 45. Most people in their early 30’s still look like mid to late 20’s you don’t start wasting away after 25 💀
@emilieford3604
@emilieford3604 Жыл бұрын
@@KassandraQuiseng exactly ! Not much aging happens in your late 20s early 30s honestly…… any changes are very gradual and subtle in someone her age and the only time there is a dramatic change in how old one appears is when there is weight loss, menopause or plastic surgery. I’m guess weight loss is a big factor for her. She was already very thin so loosing even just a little amount of weight can have a drastic effect on her appearance and more importantly, HER HEALTH……

@KassandraQuiseng

@@Kamisuitendo you’re constantly aging, but you don’t take an extreme turn from 25 - 30. Most people can look within 5 - 10 years of their age in their early 30’s. It’s usually around your 40’s that the wrinkles and creases start to sneak up.

32 yo here.. I've been thinking about botix as i watch my peers get more and more syringes, and im so glad I've found your channel bc its like a littke glimpse into their future.. it's bleak, and I'm plenty happy with my face right now. Ill be happier for it when im 52 or 62, that there aren't dozens of CCs of neurotoxins floating around inside of me, deforming me as time passes. So thanks!!

The last statement of dr. Gary is so true "it's not necessarily that they want to fix something, but they want to stand out". I've seen people too aften saying about celebrities that the reason for all the plastic surgeries they had it's their insecurities. To me it's hard to believe someone that rich doesn't go to a good therapist to solve their insecurities and all those traumas from being bullied in teenage years about some parts of their body, but rather go to a plastic surgeon to risk their health (cause all sugeries come with risks) and physical image especially when their image is their job (they make huge money out of it). Dr. Gary said it very well. I think the celebrities just like the apperance of a specific plastic surgeri, bbl, ponytail lift, etc. They want to look like that because they like it, also they are humans, they compare themselves with other celebrities, if most of them does a plastic surgeri they will want to have it too because they will feel like they remain behind and others look better. I don't think it's easy for them, they are always in competition wanting to look the best, their image gives them success. It's better to not try to fix something that's already good. Something can be improved to a maximum point if it doesn't stop there, after that point starts to derease and get worse and worse .

Rhinoplasty surgery is one of the best things I've ever done in my life. It was honestly such an improvement and confidence boost. Recovery wasn't painful but depending on your surgery detail it is very unconfortable as you cannot do much yourself.

Does anyone else feel like their left side is also their favorite ? There is interesting psychology and studies behind this… something to do with the right side of our brains controlling this side of our faces . Would love to know dr Gary’s thoughts on this . I am someone who has been told she is extremely stunning , but my face is very asymmetrical and I have such an attachment to my left side , that , I like Ari, never want to be photographed from my right side . I have far more muscle control on my left side , I cannot wink or raise my lip on right side . Curious to know more of the science behind this phenomenon

I’ve read that people tend to have everything *slightly* larger on their left side. I know the left side of my face is a bit fuller than the right. You can’t tell in person but if I take pictures at a side angle, the slight difference can either make my face look thinner or fuller depending on which side of my face I take a photo of.

It is strange bc I can lift my left eye brow, not my right. I can lift the right side of my lip, not the left. I’ve always preferred the left side of my face, but the right isn’t aging as fast as the left. I think bc I have a bit more movement in the left side of my face 🤦🏻‍♀️ things are so weird.

Right side of the brain controls left side of the body as well as the left side of the brain having contralateral innervation of the body in both sensory and motor. there's nothing more deeper to that. Also with the asymmetry, do you possibly have a cranial nerve lesion? Like in the trigeminal or facial nerve? It sounds like it
@nc375

@@aslek1yelshave u ever seen the doctors on this? It's definitely a cranial nerve issue that you have, most likely the facial nerve that is somewhat damaged somewhere.

I had a rhinoplasty when I was 22. The pain level for me was at 3/10, maybe at 5.5/10 when I freshly woke up. It’s not painful at all, compared to BBLs & breast augmentation (from what I’ve heard and from hearing the other female patients screaming and crying in pain in the same clinic I got operated/stayed at)
