I bought a Platinum LED red light lamp for some neuropathy I had. My chiropractor recommended it. Since I had it anyway I figured I would try it for my hair loss. From what I’ve heard, red light only restores 35% more hair. It doesn’t bring everything back. I would say this is true for my experience. Did it bring everything back? No. However my hair is thicker now than it was 2 years ago. My hair is the thickest it’s been in the last 15 years or so. You can still tell I have thinning hair but it has improved substantially. Less of my scalp is visible than it was before and my ponytail is noticeably thicker. Hair barrettes that used to slip out of my hair now remain firmly in place, in fact my hair is now almost too thick to use them. My hair fall has substantially decreased as well. I have also heard that minoxidil only works for less than half of the people that try it. I’ve tried it twice and didn’t see much if any improvement. More recently, I have made a point of eating more animal based protein and now my hair fall has plummeted even more. Hair loss is such a complex problem with so many different causes. There’s so much trial and error involved in figuring out what works best for you.

I used irestore for about 15 months. Results were minimal and the reason I stopped using it after 15 months is because it became nonfunctional- the lights didn't come on anymore. No loose wires or change in how it was used. But out of warranty time so basically I now have a useless $1200 helmet. I took photos once a month to track progress or lack of it. Dr. Linkov. I've had one FUE transplant 10 years ago. Age 58. That procedure worked well. I was thinning as I got older but not completely bald. The follow-up protocols for me are Revian Red (10 mins per day); Oral minoxidil/finasteride/biotin, made by a compounding pharmacy and taken daily, and once a week derma rolling. My hair looks great and I haven't noticed any side effects. Perhaps you can comment in a future video about oral minoxidil/finasteride/biotin and its efficacy as I've read recently in the NY Times about how powerful the combination can be. I'm a testament to consistency and not waiting too long to begin treatment. All the best.

I had some hair thinning about 3 months after covid. I even had a spot that was almost completely gone. I tried minoxidil and it caused severe itching flaking and burning. I hD gotten a small red light therapy device for pain---- it looks like a mini flashlight. I dont know why but I decided to try it on my head . I do it when I'm decompressing in the evening and I just sort of lay on my bed close my eyes and think. I've been using this light everyday for between 10 to 30 min and I have all kinds of baby hairs growing. I've been at this for 2 weeks and some of these hairs are almost an inch and some are about 1 and a half centimeters. The hair shedding I was experiencing has been slowing down to almost normal. .....and after covid it was a lot. Overall I lost about half my hair and it happened in a vouple of showers. I was scared to see such large amounts if hair fall and had to unclog the shower drain several times which until then I had never had to unclog a shower drain. There was hair all over my pillow and kept tickling my arms as it fell through the day. I was devistated

I use the Revian Red in concert with 2X daily minoxidil protocols. I'm 58 and my three brothers are all bald and I still have my hair. The treatment seems to work if done consistently. I can't say I've had major regrowth but I can say that my hair, for my age, has pretty good coverage. I have no doubt I would be close to bald at this point without that active planning many, many years ago. Minoxidil began about 12 years ago and Revian Red about 15 months ago. 10 mins per day with Revian Red.

These caps are astronomically expensive for the kind of treatment they deliver, when the same can be achieved at a tiny fraction of the cost using over the counter RLT bulbs. Don't place too much value on the "FDA cleared" claim, as it is rather easy to attain with the right amount of money handed over, given the 510K process is very expensive. RLT treatment mechanisms between a large bulb vs an array of "medical grade" LEDs essentially the same. Whether it is in the form factor of a baseball cap vs just a bulb pointed towards yoru head makes very little difference when you understand how RLT works. It is incredibly effective at penetrating deep into the skin, so you do not need to have the light so precisely targeted. Anyway if you want to give it a shot without spending the astronomical asking price of a Capillus cap, buy yourself a couple of $40 RLT bulbs and some cheap clamp lamps give it a shot.

I was just diagnosed with LPP - Lichen Planopilaris. I have the iRestore helmet. Is this something safe to use with this condition? From what I’ve researched online, it is ok to use. My LPP isn’t as severe …. My scalp isn’t itching or burning all the time. It just seems like my hair won’t stop shedding and it doesn’t always feel comfortable in a pony tail. I’m also using a topical steroid at the moment for first line of treatment. Could you do a video on LPP?

I'm concerned that as a longhair, buying a cap or a helmet simply won't work for me since the laser won't penetrate through my hairs to reach my scalp. I'm in the early stages of AGA (androgenic alopecia) and I'm going on finasteride this week. I wanted to supplement my finasteride regiment with laser therapy but I don't know if my current hair density will allow for this to work. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.

10:30 Do we have ways of measuring cellular growth? If a cell is stimulated into kicking up production it both utlizes more nutrients being carried to it in the circulatory system and creates more waste, correct? Is that use and waste measurable in a specific area? Also, can we take pictures of the tissue to observe stimulation, growth and waste? With those tools, you could do a trial and error with each patient to see if you can unlock an optimal combination. Just my two cents- not a doctor. :)

So the difference between laser hair removal and laser hair growth is just the level intensity? I have laser hair removal machines called Ulike. It's a quick intense flash. I also have these curved machines which are light therapy machines which say it helps with acne, but I wonder if they'd be good for hair growth as well since they might be low level. What color should the light therapy be? Because apparently different color lights do different things.
@Bakanelli5 ай бұрын
Haha I bet the differences are also is the power level & frequency of the radiation (a lot of the time expressed in wavelength, but it’s the same thing you just calculate one from another). Look since you’re obviously not an electrical engineer or someone who understands this good enough but is interested in learning it I would highly recommend to learn from Chat GPT4 or use other respectable sources

Thanks for the video! It'd be nice to know if there were studies looking at the relative effectiveness of near IR light or at least absorptivity by the chromophores. The prices are ridiculous for what the devices actually are. A laser cap seems like a relatively easy DIY project: 3D printed cap and several LED/lasers in parallel with a small battery pack. It seems like literature can give you appropriate levels of intensity to calculate emitter density & output.

It's giving me some bad anxiety to be honest, but I'm finding it difficult to choose despite knowing that I need to nip it in the butt so to speak while I still have a full head of hair despite it thinning out a bit. I don't really see tons of hair falling out while I shower or run my hands through which I think is a good sign? Anyway. Thank you for the informative video!

Take progress photos. Every two weeks ot once a month. Look at them and decide pretty soon what you want to do. Like the Dr. said, if you are deciding between rogaine and laser light therapy, he recommends being on at least two treatment modalities, so it is probably better to do them both.

I've been using capillus for just four weeks, I have the most expensive version, to understand. I am also taking supplements such as Serenoa, Moringa, Herbalife Formula 1 and Vitamins. After 2 days I immediately noticed that the hair is not falling out, now it is growing back hair. I use Capillus before going to bed with hair washed and feel until the next day that the "circulation" in my head (I think) is working. Plus, hair that's thicker and healthier to the eye. I was so undecided whether to buy it because I saw so many negative comments but I think they are from the competition (trichologists) or people who have a wrong diet: if you don't eat the right nutrients, your body doesn't have the basis for building hair.
