Hi! I’m 69 yrs old & I’m 9 days out from a deep plane fL, neck lift, lip lift, brow lift and upper bleph revision. I had it done WITHOUT general anesthesia... just a few Valium’s, and numbing injections. I felt fine from day 1. After taking ES Tylenol for 1 day, I realized I didn’t need it and stopped! I am bruised under my eyes and on 1 side of my mouth... and my face/ ears are swollen, but other than that I feel great! I can see a much younger version of me in the mirror, with a really cute turned up upper lip! I’m super pleased! However, I went into the operation very healthy. I walk 20 mis a week, don’t smoke and don’t drink. My overall health has allowed me to heal well and the way he performed the surgery was so much safer without gen anesthesia poisons in my system! I am excited and feel blessed that I could have this done! I encourage anyone who can afford to do it... to take the leap! 🙋♀️🙏🏼😬

I still have numbness next to each ear and on my throat by the incision, but no pain. I found a scar gel with SPF which I use religiously every day and also wear a foundation with physical sunscreen in it SPF 50! I’m very cautious as I live in Fla. Also wearing a big hat everyday. I am so happy with the results so far. I’m Chronologically 69 but look like I’m in my 40’s! It was worth every cent. I can’t wait to put it all on video I a podcast in the coming weeks! I was 62-yrs old when I had a neck lift and a deep plane facelift and I threw in a lip lift at the last minute. Just for fun. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The only thing you will regret is that you had any regrets. Then a year later I had my upper and lower lids done surgically and had my neck lift revised. And I always disliked my profile - as we do - and had a rhinoplasty at the same time. It’s like getting a tattoo. You’re always thinking about what you will have done next!

Yeah well like half the photos or more showed patients who'd clearly had other work done... The women at 4:36 and 5:23 CLEARLY both had rhinoplasties, and the one at 4:36 seems to have also had something done to her lips. I feel like it's not a very honest way of showing before/after photos. He should be much clearer about saying EVERYTHING they've had done, not just showing it as if it's just a facelift. It makes it look like a facelift is going to also give you a better nose/lips etc.

You really have to do your research. Check online for your state's medical board to see if they have had any negative actions against them. Where did they attend undergraduate and medical school? Check to see if lawsuits have been made against them. What hospitals did they do their internships at? Where do they have operating privileges? Are they the chair of the plastic surgery department or a professor at that hospital? What research and scholarly articles have they published? Look at their photos of their work on their websites. What do the online reviews state about the surgeon's work? Does the surgeon do any free surgeries on people in poor countries? For example, Dr. Sam Most of Stanford University's Medical School travels to a poor country each year for a few weeks to perform free surgeries on people. The free work in poor countries shows that the surgeon is compassionate. Hope this helps. Natalia Arizona

The aesthetic eye is what is necessary in cosmetic surgery, assuming the surgeon is also a skilled surgeon. There are a number of skilled surgeons, however that aesthetic eye is really critical to appear rested and not "pulled". Even if you just need stitches in an ER due to an accident, for example, make sure they call in a plastic surgeon to do those stitches and the scar will appear less noticeable.

@lavendergun2 жыл бұрын
Do not believe that a Deep Plane Facelift is "pretty painless." The pain after my DPFL was significant for the first 36 hours and I needed to use the prescribed oxycodone/acetaminophen tablets frequently during that period of time. I'm disappointed that the Plastic Surgeon did not offer to admit me over night to the hospital for pain control, even though I inquired about it at my pre-op appointment. As well, I have permanent numbness to the areas of my face innervated by the Greater Auricular Nerves. The aesthetic result is good, and I'm appreciative of that. Every person's facelift "journey" is different, but DPFL is NOT a benign procedure. Proceed with caution.

How does one make a properly informed decision on a surgeon? I've always been scared of a surgeon imposing _their_ idea of an improvement. The people with the best, invisible lifts are keeping their secret, and before and after pictures are invariably taken in completely different lighting set ups, enhancing the lines and lumps in the "before" with harsh directional lighting, and making the "after" soft, with diffused fill light. The differing patterns of highlights in the eyes usually confirms this.

You forgot to mention there's only make up on the after pics

Dr. Motykie, I am a RN and have been searching out plastic surgeons. I was wondering if you have your patients go under general anesthesia or sedation while a deep plane procedure is done. Also, what does it cost to get a facelift when lifting the jowls, neck. Thank you. Your work looks really nice. You do a really good job explaining the technique.

I look pretty good for 64 as I am blessed to have good skin, thanks to my dear mum. Although I have lines on my forehead and crows feet, they don't bother me. I have always remained the same weight from my teenage years and so I am still a size 8. The big problem that bothers me so much is my saggy neck. I have a softening of the jawline and I have a turkey neck. I hate it so much. I have a thick band that i did have some botox put in it that helped a little bit but I would dearly love to have my neck tightened. As i have been diagnosed with COPD and have long covid would i be ok to still have a neck lift? I am pretty sure Michele Phiffier and Helen Mirren have had facelifts. You don't have to confirm this Dr. Gary, just nod your head. LOL

Great information; you do amazing work! Wow! At 58 and newly divorced after 34 years**** having some of my youth back would possibly ease the devastation. Money can't buy happiness? A cliche that is so annoying! Lol. No doubt you are an artist!!

Money can't buy happiness. I have it and I am not happy, I am not fulfilled. I have lots of expensive sh*t. Plus I am attractive. SO trust me, you are better off making yourself truly happy than getting a facelift thinking it will lead to happiness. It will not. And God forbid it does not turn out as you excepted, you will be worse off than when you started.

Hello Im 63 and live in Australia. I'd love to travel to see you, consult and undergo face and neck rejuvenation and restoration. I'm not sure what the position is with COVID and travel to the US....but it's definitely on my radar! 🥰

I have read that grafted fat cells remember their origin and sometimes cause problems down the road. For example, fat grafted from the stomach behaves like stomach fat cells in the cheeks/temples and will "increase in bulk" faster than the rest of the face if the patient gains weight. Could you comment? Some surgeons seem to prefer cheek/forehead/nasolabial implants and bone grafts. Do you have any thoughts on that? Some surgeons also suggest two facelifts are a lifetime limit. Do got agree? Thank you.

Hi Gary, I'm really enjoying your videos. Question: I have heard you speak about ensuring that you see the work your surgeon has done before so you can see how good it is and whether you both have the same ideas about what is aesthetically pleasing. Are there surgeons who have specific training/experience on people who are black (as I am)? I ask this because the aesthetics are different for different cultures and races and I often see issues with various parts of treatments not staying true to the origins of the person. Thank you.

Your explanation is very interesting and informative. Do you proceed with r Total anaesthesia? Do you also consider lip flip ? What’s is holding me back are the costs so high I can’t even imagine myself be able to save so much in this life to go for it . Is that possible to get an idea of prices ? Where do you operate ? Thanks Marina

How soon should you go to the dentist after a facelift? I’m concerned about the stretching of the skin…

Those facelifts you showed were very well done. They all looked younger and rejuvenated. Shrinking the nose really made a difference. I've been averse to plastic surgery but seeing these results have changed my mind. I still think it's scary and gross. I'm really curious about the deep plane procedure. Does the muscle get affected in any way? Also, the staples, I noticed a change in the image: staple line to dots. Does skin grow around them? What happens if someone gets hit in the face?
