Probably because they want a story with suspenseful events. When a character is that overpowered and there is literally no way he loses the story becomes more predictible and boring. This is why a story like One Punch Man got so popular in recent years. It's kinda the exact same tale as Superman in terms of strength as the guy is literally too strong to lose or be affected by anything. However, that causes the character to get depressed by his own strength as there is no more challenge for him and his life became boring. I feel like that is a really cool take on the concept of superpower. Now back to Superman, if he defeats every enemy without fail the story would get pretty boring quickly as people would know exactly what to expect. "Let a good guy be good" is definitely a nice mindset to have but it can be achieved in more ways than showing absolute power. There is also mental power, which of course Superman has as well but that's when the line is crossed and maybe the character becomes "too perfect". That is also why in more recent years people have been so fascinated by the idea of an evil Superman. The story of Injustice is a great example of that as well as shows like Invincible or The Boys that have gained crazy popular and especially their main Superman-like character. People are right to believe that a character that strong cannot be perfect, it only makes sense, it's more realistic. And of course due to this rise in Evil Superman stories and stuff like the sad situation of the failed DCEU, people have started feeling that they had their fill of the "evil" or "realistic" Superman trope and want to go back to how it was before when Superman was just a cartoonishly strong character that was all about being good and doing the right thing, overcoming all evil. I can totally see where this is coming from but at the end of the day it can also get boring quickly. And of course, there were always Superman stories that liked subverting expectations, just look at the original Death of Superman, which has become a classic in Superman's history. The reason it became so popular is because of how unique it was and how it challenged the very idea of the invincible hero. This is something readers and audiences always found more intriguing than the generic Superman tropes, the same audiences that love seeing Batman, the "mortal man" defeat the "Invincible god" on the big screen. At this point, it's pretty clear what I'm trying to say and it can be summarized in one sentence... People find it boring when there are no stakes or challenges for a character, they want to see a more real character arc that they can relate too, a more traditional Hero's Journey.

Superman being able to in some way effect "the real world" is very interesting, since in Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Xeno Goku defeated Mira, someone who was growing in power to such a degree that he was threatening to destroy not only the infinite timelines of dragonball, but the "Real World" aswell. Hyperion was basically one shot by a casual random blast from one of them and even if you wanna downplay Hyperion, he's easily on par with most versions of Superman. There’s arguments for him being stronger than CAS In JL 2018 him and the league went to the sixth dimension(the highest plane of existence) he sundipped and one shotted World Forger a being from the sixth dimension who is the brother of the overmonitor/original monitor who created the monitor race. So mandrakk would just be an aspect of the orginal monitor mar novu. Infinite frontier supes woud scale to this due to him stating he’s currently stronger than he’s ever been

No he does not so long as he follows a narrative. The point of CAS is that he's a living hyperstory. Any character that's bound by the plot is below him. That being said I don't think that means CAS can beat infinite frontier because he's also a superman so it'd be like a paradoxical fight. But CAS scales higher

You could just as easily say without Batman that Superman WOULD HAVE lost. Not almost. Also CAS is fighting to protect the whole cosmology of the multiverse. Like all of it. Plot and reality. He is outerversal at least and could be scaled to omniversal if you really want to wank him. CAS is higher than any Superman who abides by plot.

Batman did the opposite of helping him, he moved the suns into fast orbit knowing that would kill him off even faster.
