I am on keto eating five years.I was not diabetic or overweight..Keto was my choice..I never had a thought going back. I eat one time a day around 6 pm.. I drink coffee in morning, if I feel hungry during the day small pieces goat + sheep cheese carry me to dinner time..

How many times did you hear the Dr Gundry saying "unlocking the keto code" ? Just teasing... This guy is a great "blue zones" doctor telling the right explanations about ketogenic diet. Now he's a great bookshop salesman too. You know why? I'm wondering what I could learn in his book that I did not catch before. The only answer is to buy it. Well done Sir !

I don't get tired on the Keto lifestyle - its not a diet and I'm constantly finding new foods to eat. My cholesterol, triglycerides are great. No inflammation. I eat at 7:30 and 1:30 and nothing in between those meals. I tried intermittent fasting without being on Keto and it did nothing.

This is true for me, several months ago I wasn't tolerating the MCT oil, so I changed over to the powder! I do low carbs with keto recipes. My last meal is done by 6 PM and my first meal us at 1 PM. Sometimes, I eat breakfast on Sunday!

Where does the myth come from that a keto diet includes bacon? Most people committed to keeping ketones available are interested enough in health to not eat processed meat.
@SOZO_xo
@SOZO_xo 2 жыл бұрын
To me… that’s “dirty” Keto (along with bologna, hot dogs and other processed foods). Personally, I do “clean” Keto which eliminates processed foods. But Keto is simply low carbs high protein high fat regardless if it’s processor or not.
@cortec7964
@cortec7964 2 ай бұрын
Sorry for the necro but, I feel like this is unfair to bacon. Bacon doesn't have to be bad for you. If the meat is high quality from a happy healthy pasture raised pig, and the salt and smoking processing is done right without additives and the likes, I wouldn't think twice. Personally I am not a big fan of nitrates, but I will eat them because getting bacon without is very hard where I'm from. Not all processed foods are bad. Fermentation, salting, smoking, pasteurizing, dehydrating, freezing, even just washing foods are classified as processed foods. Now when you start to add a lot of chemicals, additives, flavorings and the likes, you start having ultra processed foods. Of UP I believe 99% is bad for you (personal opinion, no source). I classify hot dogs as UP foods, though I have not had a close look at the ingredients. (to include @SOZO_xo reply to you)

Afternoon Dr Gundry, I have a question for your podcast. I have changed my food intake to match your yes and no foods and things are going great at the moment, I'm currently on about 250ml of olive oil and am losing about 500g of fat a week which Is fantastic. I have been fasting until midday and feel great. I have only been drinking water until midday and wondered if I can have black coffee and green tea whilst fasting? Also what is your views on Apple cider vinegar when waking up along with a glass off water with lemon? Again thanks for all the advice and help it's changed my life. Road to living until 120 has just begun. Thanks Doc

Hi there :) I've been a long-time follower of Dr. G and to just reply to your queries I can confirm that yes black coffee and green tea will do the trick during your fast. Apple cider vinegar is a great "uncoupler" as he puts it so! keep up with it... if you feel hunger kicking in during your fast a handful of nuts will do the trick and will not break your fast. Keep it up on the road to 120! :)

Just purchased your book unlocking the keto code . I have struggled on keto , just can’t get my head around eating all that fat !! Was doing a low carb high protein beforehand with IF and the weight dropped off me , now on keto it’s plateaued . Will see how I get on with the book and hopefully amend my diet/eating habits . Also I train / ride my bike and struggle to understand about low or no carbs ! Surely we need to carb up for exercise? On average I do 40-100 miles sessions !!

Funny, I had a diet that was heavily plant based with small amounts of meat and my inflammation was off the charts and my c reactive protein was sooo high. I went keto, and all of the inflammation went away and my c reactive protein went back into the normal range. Doesn’t feel restrictive to me at all and I feel great! Not to mention it also helped me to calm down my MCAS which was almost debilitating.

I have thankfully completely got rid of all my psoriasis in a year through nutrition alone...I removed meat, gluten, dairy, refined sugar, alcohol and all nightshade plants for about three months and it really did the trick. I've now reintroduced some dairy (cheese) and all nightshade plants and it has stayed away. I also take probiotics and prebiotics daily. I hope that helps.

DR. Someone lied to you. The Ketogenic diet is not just bacon and cheese. We are encouraged to eat 6-10 cups of low carb veggies a day, avocadoes, berries, Greek Yogurt, saurkraut, even a little wine is ok if it's dry. I eat grass fed beef, eggs, goat and sheep cheese, parm cheese, mushrooms, my home made mayo with avocado oil, popcorn occasionally, grass fed butter, Khefir which I make from organic grass fed milk. I make keto breads, muffins, cheesecake, fruit spreads oh the list goes on. Please educate yourself.

When the mitochondria shunt thier fuel (a proton?) out the "emergency exit" (you mentioned in another video), where does it go? The urine? Won't the shunted "fuel" build-up? If so, as what? Just "heat"? And how much re-enters the cell to enter the mitochondria again (to loop)?
