When I started, I remember comparing my art to others and getting really despondent. Now, 60 years later, when I doubt my art, I go on Instagram to look at other people's art to cheer myself up and realize how good I am. LOL! Brilliant, deep, and helpful insights, by the way.

Imagine if Adele and Amy Winehouse never had a broken heart, a terrible boyfriend, etc. we wouldn’t have had those songs. There are other sad songs, but those two women became mega stars. It’s not just the lyrics and music, you know it’s their personal emotions in their work, and people relate to that.
